The man of the hour is Andrew Aude, and he leaked some pretty top-secret information pertaining to both Apple software and hardware. However, it seems that Apple has dropped its lawsuit against the leaker.<br \/>\nApple originally filed the lawsuit back in March of 2024. The company accused Aude of leaking confidential information, some of which pertained to the Journal app and the Apple Vision Pro. Aude leaked this information to the Wall Street Journal. In fact, Apple discovered a screenshot of a text chain between Aude (who had the username Homeboy) and someone at The Wall Street Journal.<br \/>\nWhile the lawsuit didn\u2019t come out until March 2024, the investigation was live since April 2023 when Apple confronted Aude about the leaked information. The damages that Apple demanded exceeded $25,000.<br \/>\nApple suddenly dropped the lawsuit against the Vision Pro leaker<br \/>\nAlmost a year after Apple filed this lawsuit, the company seems to have backed out of this decision. According to a new report, the company had come to an agreement with Aude over the whole ordeal. We\u2019re not sure what caused this, but it looks like Apple has cooled off over the past two years.<br \/>\nIn a three-page court filing, Apple dismissed the lawsuit against Aude. We\u2019re sure that most of the action happened behind the scenes. Along with the agreement, Aude issued a statement where he admitted to his actions and apologized.<br \/>\n\u201cI made the mistake of sharing this information with journalists who covered the company. I did not realize it at the time, but this turned out to be a profound and expensive mistake,\u201d he said, \u201cLeaking was not worth it. I sincerely apologize to my former colleagues who not only worked tirelessly on projects for Apple, but work hard to keep them secret.
