Pok\u00e9mon GO buddy adventures are on their way to bring some new life to the game.
\nThis upcoming feature is not yet available but Niantic and The Pok\u00e9mon Company have announced that it’ll be here soon. Neither company has mentioned an exact time. But, given it’s the middle of December Buddy Adventures is probably coming after the new year.
\nIf that’s the case then there will still be a little bit of a wait before players can dive into this new content within the game. It is noted though that the feature will be making its way into the game\u00a0by 2020, so there’s a possibility that it could arrive at the end of this month.
\nPok\u00e9mon GO buddy adventures begins with feeding your buddy
\nTo kick things off, once the feature goes live of course, you’ll need to feed your buddy. Much like you would a Tamagotchi, but for different reasons.
\nFor example, your buddy\u00a0Pok\u00e9mon won’t die if you don’t feed it. However it won’t grow in the way that the adventures intend to it to either. Once you have a buddy set, you’ll need to feed it some berries to start the process.
\nContinuing to feed it at specific times will help it grow even more and help your chances of increasing its bond with you. You can feed it treats to get a positive reaction. And you can also grow the bond in other ways. Such as through battles and exploring.
\nA bond that can’t be severed
\nIf you’ve played the original Pok\u00e9mon games on the Game Boy or watched the original anime series years ago, then you know all about the special bonds that Pok\u00e9mon share with their trainers.
\nThat’s the idea with Buddy Adventures. You can create a bond with your buddy Pok\u00e9mon by selecting a buddy to start. Then, you feed it berries to get things going. This will start you at the Good Buddy\u00a0rank and then you can go up from there.
\nThere are four levels of buddy bonds and each one brings its own unique benefits. For example, the Good Buddy will be visible on your map. And the buddy profile page will show you how your buddy feels so you can keep tabs on it.
\nIncreasing the bond up to\u00a0Great Buddy will let your Pok\u00e9mon potentially assist you in catching other Pok\u00e9mon out in the wild. There’s also an Ultra Buddy rank which lets your buddy alert you to interesting places that you can explore.
\nAt this rank it’s also possible for your buddy to bring you in-game items that might be of use. Lastly there’s the Best Buddy rank which adds the ability to gain CP when you use that buddy in combat. If they’re still assigned as your buddy of course.
\nOn the buddy profile page you’ll also see various tasks that you can complete with your buddy each day. All of this goes towards your bond progress. All in all it should be a fun new addition to the game for trainers.<\/p>\n
