Summary cards are one of the handy features within the Gmail app that provides snippets of helpful information at the top of your emails. Now, Google is rolling out updated summary cards for paying and viewing your bills directly from the top of your emails in the Gmail app for Android and iOS.<br \/>\nThe Gmail app on Android and iOS lets you pay bills directly from the top of emails<br \/>\nLast year in October, Google announced that it updated summary cards with a new look and action buttons. Those changes impacted the summary cards used for emails related to bills, purchases, travel, and events. Two days after announcing the updated summary cards, Google rolled out the purchase summary cards.<br \/>\nFast forward to last month, the company also rolled out summary cards for Google Calendar events. Now, Google has announced that it is rolling out summary cards for paying bills in the Gmail app for Android and iOS. In a recent Workspace update post, Google showcased the updated bills summary card, taking an Xfinity bill as an example.<br \/>\nAs seen in the image below, you\u2019ll have three options \u2013 \u201cPay bill,\u201d \u201cRemind me,\u201d and \u201cView bill,\u201d when you open an email containing details about bills in the Gmail app. The \u201cPay bill\u201d and \u201cView bill\u201d options are pretty much straightforward. You can simply tap them and do what they\u2019re intended for. However, choosing the \u201cRemind me\u201d option allows setting a reminder to pay your bills later using Google Tasks.<br \/>\nImage credit: Google<br \/>\nA new \u201cHappening Soon\u201d section is due for rollout<br \/>\nApart from summary cards for paying bills, Google last year announced that it was working to add a new \u201cHappening Soon\u201d section to the Gmail app. The company then said that the section will display the most timely updates \u201cwithout even needing to open individual emails.\u201d<br \/>\nNo doubt, Google is gradually adding updated summary cards to the Gmail app. However, there\u2019s no information on when it will add the \u201cHappening Soon\u201d section.
