Now, a recent report suggests that the Exynos 2500 chip may not make it to the Galaxy Z Flip 7.<br \/>\nIn late 2024, Samsung executives confirmed the company\u2019s intentions to implement the Exynos 2500 chip in the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Z Flip FE. Back then, it was said that the firm had managed to stabilize the yield rate of its 3nm wafers. However, Samsung may have hit a new stumbling block along the way.<br \/>\nSamsung Foundry\u2019s yield rate for the Exynos 2500 chip could be insufficient for use in the Galaxy Z Flip 7<br \/>\nAccording to The Bell, Samsung has already started mass-producing the Exynos 2500 chip. However, the yield rate might not meet the potential global demand for Galaxy Z Flip 7 units. The report claims that the current yield rate on Samsung Foundry\u2019s 3nm wafers is below 50%. This is significantly higher than the 10% it was at its worst. However, the plants need to get higher numbers if Samsung wants the chip to power its main clamshell foldable.<br \/>\nThe source claims that Samsung currently produces 5,000 units of the Exynos 2500 SoC per month. This volume could be enough for the Galaxy Z Flip FE, though, as it could have limited regional availability. This opens the door for the Galaxy Z Flip 7 to be another Samsung phone powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. However, nothing is confirmed yet, so you can take this with a pinch of salt.<br \/>\nAn industry official told The Bell that Samsung Foundry\u2019s current 3nm yield rate could even drop in the future. \u201cThe initial volume is 5000 units per month, but it will be reduced to 3000\u20133500 units per month in the future,\u201d the official said regarding the Exynos 2500 production. This lowers the possibility of Samsung using it in the Z Flip 7.<br \/>\nPotential Exynos 2500-powered Galaxy S25 FE hinted for the first time<br \/>\n\u201cIn addition to the Galaxy Flip, it is likely to be installed in the entry-level Galaxy S25,\u201d the official added. This appears to be a reference to the Galaxy S25 FE, the most affordable member of the Galaxy S25 lineup.
