AMD has officially revealed full details of its upcoming Radeon RX 9070 and 9070 XT GPUs, and this includes the price and release date of both cards. AMD\u2019s Radeon RX 9070 and its XT variant are targeted squarely at the mid-range GPU market, which means they\u2019re going after consumers who would buy cards like NVIDIA\u2019s GeForce RTX 5070 and RTX 5070 Ti.
\nAt a starting price point of $549, AMD may not have to ty that hard to snatch away some of those consumers. That\u2019s not even factoring in the challenge of acquiring one of NVIDIA\u2019s RTX 50-series GPUs due to low stock. While the $549 price is nice to see, it\u2019s on par with what NVIDIA is charging. So it\u2019s likely to be less about price for people who gravitate toward this model and more about general availability.
\nWhat\u2019s more impressive is AMD\u2019s price of the Radeon RX 9070 XT. It\u2019s only going to cost $599. Compare that to NVIDIA\u2019s $749 for the RTX 5070 Ti. Consumers are looking at a $150 difference for what is probably going to be pretty comparable performance.
\nThe AMD Radeon RX 9070 and 9070 XT will launch next week at a reasonable price
\nIf you have bad luck trying to get your hands on something from NVIDIA, you could always try going for one of AMD\u2019s new GPUs. The company says they will officially launch on March 6, and they\u2019ll be available at select retailers. At the moment, however, it hasn\u2019t been mentioned which retailers those would be. Then again, it\u2019s likely to be your typical options. This means Amazon, Best Buy, Microcenter, Newegg, and others, where NVIDIA\u2019s cards are generally available.
\nAMD does note that it won\u2019t be offering an AMD-made version of these GPUs. Options will be limited to partners like ASUS, XFX, PowerColor, Acer, ASRock, and Gigabyte.<\/p>\n

\nAside from the price point and availability, AMD shared loads of details to compare the performance uplift of its new GPUs to some of its older models. AMD is also comparing performance uplifts against GPUs like the RTX 3090, as well as raw performance against NVIDIA\u2019s RTX 5070 Ti that comes in at $150 more.
\nYou can see some of the data in the screenshots above, which compare the performance against AMD\u2019s older RX 7900 GRE GPU. What you might be more interested in is the performance compared to the RTX 5070 Ti. Since that\u2019s the GPU that will be most in competition with AMD\u2019s RX 9070 XT.
\nAMD says that its RX 9070 XT is the best choice for your next GPU upgrade. Noting that it outperforms the RTX 5070 Ti in many of today\u2019s most popular titles. It\u2019s worth noting that AMD references raw gaming performance here. So, from a consumer standpoint, you may also want to look at how it performs in other areas before you decide. According to AMD\u2019s testing data, the RX 9070 XT has a 23% bump in performance per dollar across more than 30 games.
\nIt\u2019s also worth noting that AMD is basing these values off of rendering games in 4K at ultra settings on both GPUs. Both with and without ray tracing. Consumers testing and reviews haven\u2019t surfaced yet. That said, AMD is calling the RX 9070 XT the \u201cmost compelling upgrade for your system by far.\u201d That might be true for the price alone.<\/p>\n
