As Apple has just confirmed to Daring Fireball that it is delaying the personalized Siri experience until 2026.
Apple tells Gruber that it is taking them longer than expected to roll out the more personalized Siri experience, and these features will come “in the coming year”.
“Siri helps our users find what they need and get things done quickly, and in just the past six months, we’ve made Siri more conversational, introduced new features like type to Siri and product knowledge, and added an integration with ChatGPT. We’ve also been working on a more personalized Siri, giving it more awareness of your personal context, as well as the ability to take action for you within and across your apps. It’s going to take us longer than we thought to deliver on these features and we anticipate rolling them out in the coming year.”
Apple first demoed this new Siri at WWDC 2024 with iOS 18
Apple demoed this new personalized Siri, which was included in the Apple intelligence portion of its WWDC 2024 keynote and would be part of iOS 18. Now, we did not expect to see it launched with iOS 18.0 but did expect it to come in an iOS 18 update, instead, it appears to be coming with iOS 19 or possibly iOS 20, now.
Siri was slated to get some pretty good upgrades, including being contextually aware, deeper app integration, and personal awareness. So you could ask Siri for something that a specific person sent you, versus just looking up the text or email yourself.
Apple first debuted Siri in October 2011, before Google Assistant (even before Google Now), Microsoft Cortana, and Samsung’s Bixby. And it has been an absolute dumpster fire pretty much ever since. It’s worse than Bixby, which no one uses either. Hopefully, this delay from Apple is going to allow Siri to be even better than we’ve been promised, but we aren’t holding our breath.
The post Siri’s Promised Intelligence Boost Just Got Delayed (Again) Because Apple Gonna Apple appeared first on Android Headlines.

Source: ndroidheadlines.com

Siri has become the laughing stock of the tech world, and it looks like it will remain that way until […]

[1

post-15494","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-bez-kategorii
["GET
