These devices are specifically designed for demanding industrial environments and adventurers who want a device that can withstand rough treatment. Samsung is currently working on the Galaxy XCover 8 Pro, for which a couple of certifications and GeekBench have confirmed some key specs.
Samsung launched the Galaxy XCover 7 as the latest model in the lineup in January 2024. It is a mid-range device with a primary focus on extreme durability. Leaked details of the upcoming Galaxy XCover 8 Pro suggest that Samsung will maintain the same philosophy.
Geekbench confirms some key specs of the Galaxy XCover 8 Pro; TUV Rheinland reveals battery capacity
Four models of the Galaxy XCover 8 Pro appeared in the TUV Rheinland and Geekbench databases. These models are believed to be regional variants of the same rugged handset. The listed models are the SM-G766B, SM-G766U, SM-G766U1, and SM-G766W. They all share the same key specifications, as usual. For example, TUV Rheinland confirms a battery with a nominal capacity of 4,265 mAh.
The listings don’t explicitly mention the phone’s brand name. However, the main model number (SM-G766B) is quite similar to that of the XCover 7 (SM-G556B). This indicates that both smartphones belong to the same family.
The SM-G766U1 phone also passed through GeekBench, confirming some specs. The filing shows a chipset with an octa-core CPU composed of 4x cores at 1.80 GHz, 3x cores at 2.40 GHz, and 1x core at 2.50 GHz. An Adreno 810 GPU is in charge of graphics processing. These specs match the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chipset. The Galaxy XCover 8 Pro also has 5.21 GB of RAM (6 GB total).
Lastly, hardware test results on GeekBench are also available. The Galaxy XCover 8 Pro scored 1,157 and 3,288 points in the single-core and multi-core CPU tests, respectively. In the AI performance tests, it reached 811 points for single precision, 1,020 for half precision, and 1,463 points for quantized score.
There are still no details regarding the possible release date of the Galaxy XCover 8 Pro. Hopefully, more information will emerge in the coming days.

The post Galaxy XCover 8 Pro gets new certifications & Geekbench test appeared first on Android Headlines.

Source: ndroidheadlines.com

Although not widely known in the mainstream, Samsung has a Galaxy Xcover line of rugged phones.
