In 2025, we’re expecting that Apple will change up their lineup quite a bit, by including an “Air” model that is said to be ultra thin. While sticking with the base model iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max. However, we are seeing rumors that the “Plus” model could go away, in favor of the iPhone 17 Air.
In this guide, we are previewing the new iPhone 17, and rounding up all of the rumors and leaks for the new device. So this will be updated quite often ahead of the September release.
iPhone 17 Specs
Surprisingly, there hasn’t been a lot of leaks about the specs for iPhone 17. As most of the leaks and rumors have focused more on the Air and Pro models. But the rumor of it getting 120Hz is alive once again. I don’t think they will give the iPhone 17 120Hz, since they market it as “ProMotion” and it’s not available on any other non-Pro Product (including iPad Air, and MacBook Air). However, Apple could increase the screen refresh rate to 90Hz. That would still put it behind cheaper phones like the Pixel 9a which has 120Hz.
iPhone 17 will also get the A19 chip. Which won’t be using TSMC’s next-generation 2nm process, but it will use an upgraded 3nm process. We’re expecting that Apple will use TSMC’s new N3P process for this chipset, which began mass production in late 2024. Much like with the iPhone 16 series, the base model should get the A19, while the pro models get the A19 Pro. With the main difference being the number of CPU and GPU cores available.
On the RAM side of things, the iPhone 17 is expected to stick with 8GB of RAM. It did get upgraded on the iPhone 16 to 8GB from 6GB on iPhone 15. However, the pro models are expected to make the jump to 12GB.
Despite launching its own modem for the iPhone 16e recently, Apple is not expected to use its own in-house modem for the iPhone 17. It will likely be limited to the iPhone 17 Air only. And the reason for this is volume. Like the Plus model it is replacing, the Air is likely to be the low-volume iPhone this year. Meaning Apple won’t need to make as many modems for this particular modem. It’s also worth noting that their modem does not support mmWave 5G, which Verizon might decide not to carry this particular phone. Or we could see Apple offer Qualcomm and their own modems in this model.
iPhone 17 Price
Some rumors floating around about the price of the iPhone 17 puts it at the same price as the base model has been for the last several years. That means it’s likely to remain at $799. Giving it a $200 gap between it and the iPhone 16e. With the iPhone 17 Air starting at $899, it would be odd to see the base model cost more than $799.
The Pro models are also expected to keep the same pricing, $999 for the iPhone 17 Pro and $1,199 for the iPhone 17 Pro Max.
iPhone 17 Design
We’ve seen quite a few different renders of the iPhone 17 so far, but it definitely seems like Apple is moving to a camera setup that is more like a camera bar, a la Google Pixel. With the Air having a camera bar that takes up the entire top of the phone, the iPhone 17 should be very similar. However, not quite as thick, and encompasses two cameras versus the iPhone 17 Air having just one.
These cameras would still be next to each other, with Face ID being off-center still. A big reason why Apple has kept the cameras to one side, is because of how big the Face ID components are. You can’t put a camera behind it, because the regular cameras are also fairly large these days.
Otherwise, we are expecting the iPhone 17 to retain virtually the same design. With the Camera Control and Action Buttons included. We’d expect to see slightly smaller bezels and perhaps a smaller dynamic Island.

iPhone 17 Cameras
iPhone 17 is expected to have a 24-megapixel front-facing camera across the entire lineup, with a six-element lens. That would be a pretty nice upgrade over the current 12-megapixel camera on the iPhone. That is expected to be the only camera upgrade for the base model.
However, the Pro models are expected to have a 48MP primary camera, a 48MP ultra wide camera, and a 48MP tetraprism telephoto camera. And at least one model will feature a mechanical aperture, where users can adjust the size of the iPhone 17 aperture. We’d expect this to be on the Pro Max model.
iPhone 17 Connectivity
Apple is expected to remove the SIM card tray from even more countries this year, leaving them with eSIM only. After originally doing this to the US with the iPhone 14.
WiFi 7 will be available on the iPhone 17, which should be no surprise, as the iPhone 16 lineup supported it too. WiFi 7 does support 2.4GHz, 5GHz and 6GHz for faster speeds and lower latency. We’re also expecting to see Bluetooth 5.3 supported.
As mentioned already, Apple’s own modem is not expected in the base model, only in the Air. Apple is expected to continue using Qualcomm’s modems in its other iPhone 17 models.
iPhone 17 Launch Date
Apple typically announces the new iPhone in September. Usually a week after Labor Day, and we expect the same timeline this year. However, with new models, Apple typically starts shipping those a little later. So iPhone 17, 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max could all ship in late September. With the iPhone 17 Air shipping a bit later, or into October.
The post Apple iPhone 17: Ultimate Preview Guide appeared first on Android Headlines.

Source: ndroidheadlines.com

The iPhone 17 is still many months away, but the rumor mill is heating up quite a bit for the […]

[1

post-15643","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-bez-kategorii
["GET
