As it stands, when you would search for specific emails, the platform would do a typical keyword-based search. However, thanks to a new update, Gmail’s search feature is much smarter.
This new feature solves a pretty big problem when it comes to searching through your emails. When you do a search, the app will just surface a list of emails that involve that keyword. While that works for certain situations, it’s not the best when it comes to finding specific emails. If you have a ton of emails that have a keyword similar to the one you’re searching for, then you’ll need to sift through the results.
Gmail’s search feature will get smarter thanks to AI
If there’s a new feature coming out for a Google product, you know that it involves AI in some capacity. On Thursday, Google announced a new updated search feature for Gmail that it’s releasing globally. Rather than being tied to a typical keyword-based search, you’ll have the power of AI on your side.
When you do a search, you’ll have the option to show the most relevant search results. Gmail will take into account the most clicked emails, the recency of the emails, and frequent contacts. Using this data, it will surface the emails it thinks are the most relevant to your search. Basically, Gmail will read the room.
Google gave an example showing a user searching for the word “Reunion.” In the image below, we see that the left side shows the emails organized by the most recent. We see that an email advertising a sale came up first. However, the image on the right shows an email about a class reunion. You’re more likely to search the word “Reunion” to find an email about an actual reunion than one about a sale.
Google rolled this feature out globally to all personal Gmail users. It’s available across the web version and mobile version, so chances are that you have access to it. If not, then make sure that your Gmail app is fully up to date.
The post This feature makes Gmail’s search feature so much better! appeared first on Android Headlines.

Source: ndroidheadlines.com

Gmail is the most used email client in the world, and this is mostly because Google is always delivering useful […]

[1

post-15680","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-bez-kategorii
["GET
