It’s a nice addition, but it was pretty limited when it first came out. Well, according to a new report, YouTube will soon give you more control over the Ask Music feature, along with other exciting changes.
If you don’t know what Ask Music is, then you’re really missing out. This feature lets you generate a music playlist using just a simple text prompt. Say, you’re in a certain mood for smooth rock ballads. Well, you can type that prompt into the app, and it will use AI to generate the perfect playlist for you. It’s great for people who are into discovering new music. It’s also for people who pay; Ask Music is only for YouTube Music subscribers. To access this tool, just open the app and scroll down on the home screen.
You’ll see the Ask for Music section. At that point, type the kind of music you’re looking for, and you’ll have a playlist in a couple of seconds.
YouTube is giving you more control over Ask Music
Previously, once you make a playlist, it’s pretty much set in stone. While YouTube has high hopes for its AI technology, there’s no doubt that it isn’t perfect. There’s no guarantee that it will find the perfect songs for you. Well, the company is changing that.
After the update, you’ll be able to fine-tune your playlist after it’s been created. If that smooth rock ballad playlist isn’t smooth enough, then you can say so. Just like any other chatbot, you’ll be able to talk back to it with your suggestions, and it will generate another playlist.
Custom thumbnails
Next, YouTube Music now lets you upload your own custom playlist thumbnails on Android. The company brought this ability to the web version last year. This is just another feature that gives you more control over your experience.
To upload your own thumbnail, you’ll tap on the pencil icon on the playlist and choose the photo from your gallery. The image will be cropped to a perfect square.
If you generated your thumbnail using AI, you have a selection of different themes to choose from. Well, YouTube Music just added the “Workout” and “Instruments” themes.
My Mix titles
Rounding out the changes, YouTube Music will actually generate titles for your My Mixes using Gemini. These titles will be based on the overall mood of the songs added to the Mix.
The company is rolling these features out today, so be on the lookout for them.
The post YouTube Music gives you more control over the Ask Music feature appeared first on Android Headlines.

Source: ndroidheadlines.com

Last year, YouTube Music brought the interesting Ask Music feature.
