The XCover lineup offers rugged mobile devices aimed at adventurers and industrial environments. They are the company’s most durable smartphones, as reflected in their sturdy designs. Now, the Galaxy XCover 7 Pro has received FCC approval, suggesting an imminent launch.
This news may be a bit confusing for you, as recent reports claimed that Samsung was working on the Galaxy XCover 8 Pro. However, there appears to be some confusion about this. The latest FCC listing refers to the upcoming device as the Galaxy XCover 7 Pro.
Galaxy XCover 7 Pro (previously leaked as Galaxy XCover 8 Pro) gets FCC certification
Previously, the alleged Galaxy XCover 8 Pro received certification from TUV Rheinland. The device had the model numbers SM-G766B, SM-G766U, SM-G766U1, and SM-G766W for its different regional variants. At the time, the certification body referred to the phone as the XCover 8 Pro. However, now the SM-G766U model has been listed with the FCC under the name Galaxy XCover 7 Pro.
The FCC entry includes another key detail that could confirm that the phone will indeed hit the market under the name Galaxy XCover 7 Pro. The description on the battery case says “XC7 Pro.” This seems to be a clear reference to the “XCover 7 Pro” moniker. Therefore, it is likely that there was a naming error in previous certifications.

The Galaxy XCover 7 Pro has also passed the Geekbench tests. The benchmark confirmed that the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chip will power the device. There are also 6GB of RAM onboard and Android 15 as the OS. The phone won’t be a powerhouse, but it’s not intended to be either. However, these specs seem sufficient to offer decent performance in most apps. Anyway, Samsung will likely offer variants of the handset with more RAM.
Samsung launched the Galaxy XCover 7 in January 2024. Being a rugged phone, it boasts advanced durability certifications like MIL-STD 810H and IP68. It’s been over a year, so we’ll likely see its successor soon.
The post FCC certifies Samsung Galaxy XCover 7 Pro; launch imminent appeared first on Android Headlines.

Source: ndroidheadlines.com

According to recent leaks, Samsung is working on a new Galaxy XCover phone.
