While the processor is yet to go official, ahead of its release, the brand has made an important acquisition announcement. The US chipmaker has acquired the generative AI division of VinAI to reinforce its AI capabilities.<br \/>\nQualcomm acquires MovianAI to strengthen its generative AI capabilities<br \/>\nIn a press note, Qualcomm has shared details about the acquisition of MovianAI.\u00a0VinAI is known for its research-related work in machine learning, computer vision, and natural language processing. The VinAI division is a former part of the Vingroup ecosystem. Vingroup is one of the largest private conglomerates in Vietnam. Qualcomm has been working with VinAI for more than 20 years.<br \/>\nIt previously partnered with VinAI in the areas of 5G, AI, IoT, and automotive. The press release notes that Qualcomm has played an instrumental role in the growth and success of Vietnam\u2019s information and communication technology (ICT) industry and assisted the entry of Vietnamese companies.<br \/>\nVinAI founder Dr. Hung Bui joins Qualcomm<br \/>\nDr. Hung Bui, founder and CEO of VinAI, will also join Qualcomm. He is a former expert at Google DeepMind. Bui has played a key role in VinAI\u2019s development. The team of MovianAI is renowned for world-class research and engineering.<br \/>\nHung Bui expressed his thoughts about the acquisition, saying, \u201cWe are ready to contribute to Qualcomm\u2019s mission of making breakthroughs in fundamental AI research and scale them across industries, including smartphones, PCs, software-defined vehicles, and more.\u201d<br \/>\nQualcomm plans to ensure widespread AI adoption.<br \/>\nNeither Qualcomm nor MovianAI disclosed the acquisition cost. With AI being the current trend, the US tech giant is looking to strengthen its AI leadership while Vietnam is the key player in innovation.<br \/>\nQualcomm\u2019s AI strategy spans smartphones, automotive, IoT, and personal computing, ensuring widespread adoption of AI-powered solutions.
