This integration comes over a year after Reddit expanded its collaboration with Google Cloud to access its Vertex AI platform to create artificial intelligence-based agents.

\nReddit Answers is still in beta and isn\u2019t yet available everywhere
\nReddit launched Answers functionality on its platform in late 2024. As per the company, Reddit Answers aims to help users more effectively find information, recommendations, discussions, and insights directly from the conversations and communities across the platform. Reddit has designed this feature to keep users on the platform rather than search for threads on Google.
\nThe integration with Google\u2019s Gemini assistant allows Reddit Answers to provide more accurate search in addition to summaries, follow-up questions, and the ability to have an artificial conversation about the content. Furthermore, by integrating Gemini, Reddit may be able to better compete with OpenAI\u2019s ChatGPT and other generative AI chatbots that use its data.
