Sony\u2019s State of Play live streams are kind of like a mini PlayStation Showcase, and the next one is happening on June 4, 2025, just before the Summer Games Fest event. While these aren\u2019t as big as PlayStation Showcases, they still hold some useful information on new stuff coming to the PlayStation platform, in this case, the PS5.<\/p>\n
It shouldn\u2019t be too surprising that Sony is holding a State of Play this week. With Summer Games Fest happening on June 5 and Nintendo\u2019s Switch 2 launch happening on that same day, it\u2019s the perfect time for Sony to give players all kinds of news on upcoming games and features. Sony also typically holds a State of Play or a showcase during the Summer. So, this is really just par for the course. As for what to expect, Sony lays out a general outline without giving away any of the specifics.<\/p>\n
The PlayStation State of Play for June 2025 will focus on news and updates for PS5 games<\/p>\n
Summertime is a big time for game releases, just about every year, and this year is no different. The live stream will focus on news and updates for \u201cmust-play games\u201d that are coming to PS5. So, you can probably expect to see a few trailers and\/or announcements about new and upcoming PS5 games. There should also be some information about games that were already announced. These games may not have had a release date mentioned up to this point, though. So tomorrow\u2019s stream could potentially reveal details like this.<\/p>\n
As is usually the case, not everything shown will be newly announced, but it would be surprising if there wasn\u2019t at least one new game announcement made during the stream. The majority of the content, however, could be about really anything related to the PS5 platform.<\/p>\n

Viewers will be able to view the State of Play on Sony\u2019s usual social channels for this kind of content, which are YouTube and Twitch. The stream starts at 2PM Pacific Standard Time and will be over 40 minutes long. So, there is likely to be a lot that Sony will cover in the near-hour-long stream.
