Recently, the search titan added an ability that allows Google Drive\u2019s Gemini side panel to offer summaries and answer questions about the content of videos. Google has now introduced a new Gemini-backed feature called \u2018Catch me up\u2019 in Google Drive.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCatch me up\u201d summarize changes in your Google Drive shared files<\/p>\n<p>Google Drive\u2019s latest Gemini AI chatbot-powered Catch me up functionality is capable of summarizing any changes made by others to your shared files since you last checked them. The feature automatically identifies and provides a high-level overview of changes, including edits and comments, in Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides since the last time you opened them. It works across multiple files and within specific documents.<\/p>\n<p>Essentially, Gemini\u2019s new feature in Google Drive now identifies relevant files that have changed since the user last viewed them and provides an overview of these changes. In a blog post, Google said, \u201cWhile this list isn\u2019t meant to be comprehensive, it aims to highlight changes that may be helpful and important.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Google Drive\u2019s new \u201cCatch me up\u201d feature will come in handy if you frequently work together with colleagues on documents, spreadsheets, and other shared files. Google\u2019s productivity programs already offer the ability to track changes in a file via the version history page. However, the new Gemini-backed functionality offers a quicker way to speed up changes and feedback from your colleagues or contributors.<\/p>\n<p>Rolling out to eligible Google Workspace and One AI Premium subscribers<\/p>\n<p>Google Drive\u2019s latest Gemini-powered feature is currently available only in English. Google has made it available for Google Workspace users with a Business Standard or Plus plan, Enterprise Standard or Plus plan, Gemini Education or Premium add-on, and Google One AI Premium subscription.<\/p>\n<p>The company started rolling out the new feature to eligible Google Workspace consumers on June 15.
