The upcoming Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 won\u2019t feature any UDC (under-display camera) technology.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Galaxy Z Fold 7 could opt for a punch-hole instead of UDC on the inner display<\/p>\n<p>We just shared a set of exclusive renders of the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 7. One thing that stood out notably in the images was the presence of a traditional front-facing camera even on the inner display. Well, now reliable tipster PandaFlash \ud835\udd4f on X\/Twitter has backed up our report. According to the post, both the outer (cover) display and the large inner foldable display on the Z Fold 7 will integrate their front-facing cameras using the familiar punch-hole design, much like traditional smartphones. Interestingly, this approach was also seen on last year\u2019s Galaxy Z Fold SE (Special Edition).\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>According to previous reports, the Z Fold 7 will boast the same display as the Z Fold SE. The main difference is said to be thinner bezels that would enhance the full-screen experience. It seems that Samsung has failed\u2014or hasn\u2019t wanted\u2014to integrate UDC into this panel.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Pros and cons of this decision<\/p>\n<p>On the \u201cpro\u201d side, the biggest benefit is likely better image quality for the inner display\u2019s selfie camera. By switching to a punch-hole, Samsung can use more conventional, higher-quality camera sensors. This results in sharper and clearer selfies and video calls from the main foldable screen.<\/p>\n<p>However, there\u2019s a notable \u201ccon\u201d: the camera hole on the inner display will now be fully visible. This will be a bummer for those who loved the seamless, distraction-free experience of a true full-screen display on previous Fold models.
