The Samsung Galaxy S22 series is now getting the June 2025 Android security update in the US. This update started rolling out mid-June, but it took its sweet time to make its way to the States.<\/p>\n

The Samsung Galaxy S22 series is now getting June 2025 Android security update in the US<\/p>\n

It is now rolling out to factory-unlocked variants of the Samsung Galaxy S22 series. That goes for all three devices, the Samsung Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and Galaxy S22 Ultra. Carrier-locked models will likely get it soon too.<\/p>\n

The new firmware carries a version \u2018S90xU1UES8FYF2\u2019, and it is live for devices running on a ton of networks. That goes for devices running on AT&T, Bluegrass Cellular, Cellular South, Cricket, Comcast, DISH, MetroPCS, Nextech, T-Mobile, Tracfone, US Cellular, Verizon, and Xfinity Mobile.<\/p>\n

This update delivers 18 Android security fixes provided by Google itself. On top of that, Samsung has added 19 of its own fixes for One UI 7. So you\u2019re getting a total of 37 security fixes here. There are no new features included.<\/p>\n

The update will appear for you on its own, but you can always manually check via Settings if you\u2019re impatient. It is coming soon, if it hasn\u2019t already, though, as it\u2019s a staged rollout, so it may not appear straight away.<\/p>\n

These devices are also eligible for the Android 16 update<\/p>\n

The Samsung Galaxy S22 series is eligible for the Android 16 update, which will deliver One UI 8.0 as well. That update is expected to start rolling out later this year for Samsung phones. We\u2019re not sure how long it will take Samsung to push it to the Galaxy S22 series.<\/p>\n

As a reminder, Samsung started rolling out Android 15 with One UI 7.0 earlier this year. It didn\u2019t take that long for it to land on the Galaxy S22, not at all. That gives us hope for a quick arrival of Android 16 to the Galaxy S22 series, too.
