These phones will debut with the brand\u2019s new One UI 8 version, which is shaping up to be a huge upgrade after the One UI 7 update fiasco. We already know about a handful of features that the firm is launching with One UI 8, thanks to leaks. Samsung has now revealed a new suite of security features that are debuting with One UI 8 to protect Galaxy devices from future quantum-level computing threats.<\/p>\n
One UI 8 will bring KEEP, a new AI-focused encrypted storage system<\/p>\n
Samsung\u2019s One UI 8 will bring Knox Enhanced Encrypted Protection (KEEP), which is the brand\u2019s new architecture to safeguard the next generation of personalized, AI-powered features. The company has developed the functionality to secure data used by on-device artificial intelligence functions. It is capable of creating app-specific encrypted zones within a phone\u2019s secure storage area. This means each app can only access its own private data on user devices.<\/p>\n
Furthermore, KEEP supports Galaxy\u2019s Personal Data Engine (PDE) and now protects major AI features like Now Brief, Smart Suggestions, and other on-device functionalities that use user-specific inputs. \u201cWith KEEP, Samsung is redefining how mobile devices safeguard data in the background to elevate privacy from a setting to an embedded design principle,\u201d the company said in a blog post.<\/p>\n
One UI 8 will offer post-quantum encryption to enhance Wi-Fi security\u00a0<\/p>\n
Notably, Samsung is integrating post-quantum encryption into Secure Wi-Fi in One UI 8 to further enhance overall security. Samsung originally launched Secure Wi-Fi functionality alongside the Galaxy S25 series. Its new upgrades in the One UI 8 update include multiple new privacy tools\u2014Auto Protect, Enhanced Privacy Protection, and Protection Activity\u2014while using Wi-Fi connections.<\/p>\n
Furthermore, Samsung is improving its Knox Matrix feature to deliver more proactive and user-friendly protection for connected Galaxy devices. If a device becomes compromised at the system level, Knox Matrix will sign the user out of their Samsung Account, effectively blocking a threat actor\u2019s access to potentially affected cloud services. It will also notify users across their connected Galaxy products to assess and respond to the risk.<\/p>\n
Samsung has announced that all the new security features will be rolling out on its upcoming Galaxy phones with One UI 8. They will eventually reach most Galaxy phones and tablets that are eligible to get the brand\u2019s new software.
