Its main “numeric” series, and especially its “Ultra” versions, often surprise in this regard. Now, the company reportedly wants to take things even further in the Xiaomi 16 series with a “Pro Max” model that would boast a new and powerful main camera sensor.

According to reports, the Xiaomi 16 Pro Max will arrive in China later this year as the true successor to the Xiaomi 15 Pro. The handset will combine a huge display with bigger camera upgrades and an even bigger battery. If these details hold true, Xiaomi is set to deliver a serious contender in the premium smartphone space.

Xiaomi 16 Pro Max may boast a powerful SmartSens 590 main camera sensor

One of the most interesting aspects of the Xiaomi 16 Pro Max centers around its camera system. To start, the brand’s premium devices will continue to feature Leica optics. Additionally, according to reliable tipster Digital Chat Station, the phone will incorporate a new, highly dynamic 50-megapixel SmartSens 590 main sensor. At 1/1.28 inches, this sensor is a nice step up in size from its predecessor, the Omnivision OVX9000 found in the Xiaomi 15 Pro. A larger sensor generally means better light capture, which translates to superior image quality—especially in challenging low-light conditions.

The SmartSens 590 isn’t just bigger; it also packs even more advanced tech. Manufactured on a 22nm process, it includes LOFIC 2.0 (Lateral Overflow Integration Capacitor) and QPD (Quad Pixel Detection) technologies. LOFIC 2.0 enhances dynamic range, allowing the sensor to retain more detail in both bright and dark areas of a photo, while QPD ensures fast and accurate autofocus. These features aim to deliver professional-grade photography right from your smartphone. Interestingly, the rumor mill also talks about Apple developing a LOFIC sensor for iPhones.

The camera enhancements extend beyond the main lens. The Xiaomi 16 Pro Max could also feature a new, more dynamic 50-megapixel periscope telephoto lens. This lens is rumored to house Samsung’s ISOCELL GN8 sensor. With a size of 1/1.95 inches, it is a significant improvement from the previous generation. A better periscope lens means improved optical zoom capabilities, letting you get closer to distant subjects without sacrificing image quality.

More leaked specs

Beyond the cameras, the Xiaomi 16 Pro Max is shaping up to be a true powerhouse. The devices could feature a large 6.8-inch 2K AMOLED display with ultra-thin bezels and efficient LIPO technology for reduced power consumption. And for those who need their phone to last all day and then some, a massive 7,500 mAh battery might keep the lights on. This would be a huge jump from the Xiaomi 15 Pro’s 6,100 mAh cell.

We’re still waiting for official details from Xiaomi. However, these leaks are starting to build hype around the upcoming Xiaomi 16 Pro Max. We’ll likely have more news on this soon.
The post Xiaomi 16 Pro Max to Feature Massively Improved Camera Sensor appeared first on Android Headlines.

Source: ndroidheadlines.com

While not officially present in the US market—like other major Chinese brands—Xiaomi has been among the benchmarks in mobile photography […]

[1

post-17505","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-bez-kategorii
["GET
