If you get overwhelmed deciding what to watch next, Roku has you sorted with the new features. Roku says that you’ll be able to discover trending/new content as well as what’s new in theaters. As part of the latest upgrade, Roku has also added personalized, AI-curated clips of movies and shows to watch on your smart TVs.

Here are all the new, free upgrades coming to your Roku TV

Roku TV’s latest free upgrade includes the “Top trending” section. Going forward, Roku will display two different rows that will include “Top 10 Movies” and “Top 10 TV Shows.” This will give you an idea of what everyone is watching. In other words, Roku wants you to help with content discovery on its platform.

If you don’t have anything in mind to watch on weekends, scroll through the two rows, and you’ll be sorted. You can find the trending section right below the “New & Popular” tab and the Movie and TV sections. It’s worth noting that these rows refresh daily, just like the “Trending” section does on Netflix.

Roku TV has also introduced something called “Movie Night” as part of the latest free upgrade. Generally, when you are in search of a new movie that’s about to hit the theaters, you’re likely to head out to watch it. Well, Roku wants you to watch them on its platform, as the new “In Theaters Now” row will display current movie releases. You can even watch trailers and add titles to your saved list. This way, you can watch them as soon as they’re available on Roku.

                            Roku free upgrade

                            Roku free upgrade 2

                            Roku free upgrade 3

Next on the list is the “Surf Mode.” If you love TikTok-style clips, this feature is for you. The Surf Mode allows you to scroll through AI-curated clips from the Roku Channel’s content library. Roku notes that it curates these clips to match a user’s taste. Interestingly, you can click on these clips to stream a whole movie or TV show.

Newly added channels will be easy to find

Last but not least, there’s a new section called “Newly Added.” As you may know, Roku has more than 500 free live TV channels. So, it’s quite hard to track newly added channels. This is where the new section comes to your rescue. It’ll help you discover the most recently added channels. Roku also notes that these new features are rolling out over the coming weeks. So, if you aren’t seeing them now, don’t worry; they will eventually come your way.

Image: Roku
The post Roku TV Announces New Free Update With AI-Powered Features appeared first on Android Headlines.

Source: ndroidheadlines.com

Roku, a popular TV streaming platform, has announced a bunch of free upgrades, including one powered by AI.
