However, if the rumors are true, Apple could already be prepping its successor. It might be a bit too early, but the specs of the iPhone 17e might have been revealed, thanks to a leak shared on Weibo by tipster Digital Chat Station.

iPhone 17e specs leak

According to the leak, the iPhone 17e will come with specs like a 6.1-inch OLED display with a 60Hz refresh rate. It is also rumored to be powered by the A19 chipset. Note that the upcoming base iPhone 17 will also use the same A19 chipset, but the Air, Pro, and Pro Max models are rumored to use a more powerful A19 Pro.

For the cameras, it will come with a single 48MP camera and a 12MP front-facing shooter, which apparently supports 3D facial recognition. The post also claims that the “ID” has changed significantly, but we’re not sure what exactly that means.

That being said, for the most part, the iPhone 17e sounds a lot like its predecessor. The only change that we can see, at least so far, is the use of the A19. Other than that, the display size and cameras are identical. But that’s not necessarily a good thing. Keeping things relatively the same means the costs for Apple won’t go up too much. It also means that Apple gets to keep the price of the phone relatively affordable.

However, it does lose a bit of its appeal since customers could always opt for the iPhone 16e, which by then should see a further drop in price.

A surprising hit

Now, we know that we weren’t alone in expressing our shock and disbelief that Apple could launch the iPhone 16e at those prices, but with such crappy specs. Throw a stone and you’d easily find an Android phone with better hardware and a lower price.

However, to our surprise, sales of the iPhone 16e were much better than we expected. The phone broke into Europe’s top 10 list. It even helped Apple achieve a better-than-expected financial quarter.

Will the iPhone 17e be able to replicate its predecessor’s success? Possibly, especially with the incoming tariffs and the expectations that the prices of electronics could rise. But we’ll have to wait and see.
The post New iPhone 17e Specs Leak Shows Small Upgrades, Same Strategy appeared first on Android Headlines.

Source: ndroidheadlines.com

The iPhone 16e was announced earlier this year.
