Back then, Google also confirmed that it’ll roll out controls for the 3rd-gen Nest Learning Thermostat and Nest Thermostat E in the Google Home app by late 2025. Well, Google has reportedly rolled out an update to its Home app, bringing native scheduling support for older Nest thermostats.

Google Home’s latest update improves scheduling for older Nest thermostats

Today, folks over at Android Central spotted a post on the Google Nest Community forum that suggests the latest update. If you own the 3rd-gen Nest Learning Thermostat and Nest Thermostat E and live in the U.S. and UK, the update should be available for you. Just don’t forget to check it out.

Now, you must be wondering what the new update brings, right? Well, it addresses the biggest drawback in Google’s smart home setup. Now, you can directly set schedules for the 3rd-gen Nest Learning and Nest E right from the Google Home app. Previously, the company capped this feature for the new Nest thermostat. That’s not all; owners of older thermostats were forced to use a different app for scheduling.

Following the update, all schedules set on the old Nest app will show up in the Google Home app too. Those who have the Learning Thermostat can view and use sensors from inside the app. Google has officially confirmed that it started rollout last week, but it isn’t available to everyone yet.

Some older thermostat models won’t pick up the latest update

If you own older models like the first-gen Nest (2011), the second-gen (2012), and the 2014 European version, sadly, this update won’t be available for you. The tech giant has already confirmed that software support for these models will end on October 25, 2025.

Moving on, Google is also updating the Home app across all Nest thermostats. The company has reportedly added brighter colors and clearer labels for heating and cooling. Last but not least, the app now includes a revamped energy dashboard that includes detailed stats.

Image: Google
The post Older Nest Thermostats Finally Get Google Home App Scheduling appeared first on Android Headlines.

Source: ndroidheadlines.com

If you keep up with the latest Google news, you must be aware that the company previously said that it […]

[1

post-17704","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-bez-kategorii
["GET
