The latest chipset succeeds last year\u2019s Snapdragon 7s Gen 3, offering a slight power boost and support for higher resolution displays while maintaining a 4nm process.<\/p>\n<p>Qualcomm\u2019s new Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 mid-range chip<\/p>\n<p>To catch you up, Nothing\u2019s 3a and 3a Pro from last year packed the predecessor. Qualcomm suggests that the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 offers a 7% improvement with both Adreno GPU and Kryo CPU.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking of overall performance improvement, the specs sheet of the new Snapdragon SoC hints at higher peak CPU speeds of up to 2.7 GHz. To compare this, the predecessor offered 2.5GHz. Qualcomm also mentions that it has added support for WFHD+ display with 2,900 x 1,300 resolution and 144Hz screen refresh rate.<\/p>\n<p>The chip giant has also integrated the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 with the Low Light Vision feature. To catch you up, Qualcomm previously kept this feature exclusive to its flagship offerings. Besides these upgrades, the latest 7s chipset retains the AI-powered capability to capture 200MP photos. Plus, it comes with the company\u2019s Quick Charge 4+ technology that allows charging devices from 0 to 50% in a mere five minutes.<\/p>\n<p>Image: Qualcomm<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s unclear which smartphone brand will use the new SoC<\/p>\n<p>Next up, the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 also comes with support for real-time translation and transcription with multiple languages. Overall, Qualcomm has improved a few things, but it can\u2019t be considered a big upgrade.<\/p>\n<p>As of now, Qualcomm hasn\u2019t detailed the manufacturers that will use this chipset. Nor have we heard any rumors related to it. As a speculation, we might see this chipset first used by China-based smartphone brands like Vivo, HONOR, and more.
