Alongside launching the new iPhone 17 series, Apple also introduced the A19 and A19 Pro chips. The latter is present inside the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max models, and also the iPhone Air, but a binned version with one less GPU core. Apple promises almost a 40% improvement in performance compared to the previous iteration. These claims are now reflected in benchmarks, which show the iPhone 17 Pro is the fastest phone out there.<\/p>\n

Leaker Jukanlosreve on X has posted the Geekbench benchmark results of what he claims to be the Apple A19 Pro. The results show the 6 single-core score of 3,895 and a multi-core score of 9,746. Since the phones aren\u2019t out yet, it\u2019s impossible to verify the scores at this point. If they\u2019re indeed accurate, they are very impressive.<\/p>\n

The A19 Pro chip reportedly outpaces its current rival, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, by a good 36% margin. It\u2019s also an 11% improvement over the single-core benchmark results of the A18 Pro last year. To recall, this chip was present in the iPhone 16 Pro series.<\/p>\n

Apple\u2019s A19 Pro goes head-on with desktop-class chips<\/p>\n

The A19 Pro\u2019s single-core scores even compete with desktop-class chips like the AMD Ryzen 9 9950X, Intel Core i9-14900KS, and, interestingly, Apple\u2019s own M4, as per Tom\u2019s Hardware. The A19 Pro is reportedly just under 12% faster than the AMD Ryzen 9 9950X and around 16% quicker than the Intel Core i9-14900KS in single-core benchmarks. However, in the multi-core scores, both Intel and AMD came out on top.<\/p>\n

If you\u2019re looking for the fastest phone, the latest Apple iPhone models, particularly the Pro models, are it as things stand now. Having said that, with Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5\u2019s launch right around the corner, things might take a turn. Rumors claim the Qualcomm chip will offer improved gaming performance while consuming less power.
