Rumors specifically about the ray tracing performance have popped up before. However, the details now come from what are said to be the full leaked specs. It’s worth keeping in mind that it is still years away from a PS6 launch. That being said, these details may change given how much time is left between now and when Sony officially releases the next PlayStation console.

Based on recent rumors from Moore’s Law is Dead on YouTube, the PS6 is shaping up to be a considerably powerful console. A lot of factors will feed into this, but one such factor is the improvement Sony and AMD will make to the PS6’s ray tracing performance. Initially rumored to be around 5x – 10x better than the base PS5, Moore’s Law is Dead now believes it’ll be slightly higher than that. Specifically, the ray tracing performance on the PS6 is supposed to be 6x – 12x better than the PS5. It’s hard to visualize just what that might look like. Or if the performance will really see that much of an improvement. Importantly, the ray tracing performance upgrade won’t be the only thing that needs to improve for overall performance on the PS6 to be significantly above the PS5.

Ray tracing performance is but one of many parts that will be upgraded on the PS6

Ray tracing is and has been the hot new buzzword in games for the past few years. Better ray tracing performance is an easy sticker you can slap on your marketing to capture the attention of many gamers. And while better ray tracing performance is nice, it’s not the only thing worth looking at.

The PS6 is bound to have loads of technical leaps that push it noticeably beyond what the PS5 is capable of. For example, rumors suggest that the PS6’s APU will provide lower power consumption. That won’t necessarily translate to better graphics or anything. However, it should lead to the console using less energy. And that’s not a bad thing. It’s also being rumored that Sony could use 30GB or 40GB of RAM for the console. For comparison, the PS5 has 16GB of RAM. The PS5 Pro has 1GB of RAM. So, this would be a noticeable bump.

The post PS6 ray tracing rumored to now be 6x-12x that of the base PS5 appeared first on Android Headlines.

Source: ndroidheadlines.com

Rumors about the PS6 and its performance have been floating around for at least a few months, and the latest […]

[1

post-18056","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-bez-kategorii
["GET
