Now, an upcoming feature that could make it much more organized has emerged. Google is reportedly testing a new “projects” feature, which appears to be Gemini’s approach to a similar functionality of a direct competitor: OpenAI’s ChatGPT. This new tool could help users manage their AI-related work in a more structured and efficient way.

The new feature was recently spotted by Android Authority in the Google app’s code (16.37.46.sa.arm64). However, this isn’t the first time we’ve heard about it. An August report already hinted at the development of the new feature.

Gemini to get a new “projects” feature to help you organize AI work

That said, it looks like Gemini’s projects will appear in the chatbot’s mobile user interface, just below the “My Stuff” section. While it’s not yet public, the code suggests that at least initially, you will have to create these new projects on the Gemini web version rather than the mobile app itself.

The exact details of how Gemini’s projects will work are still unknown. However, we can get a good idea by looking at how ChatGPT handles its projects feature. In ChatGPT, projects are essentially smart folders where you can upload and organize documents, notes, and other materials. Each project has its own set of instructions and its own separate context. This greatly helps keep your work organized. It also prevents different tasks from getting mixed up.

The concept is also somewhat similar to Google’s own NotebookLM feature. But the key difference is that Gemini’s projects would likely be accessible directly from Gemini, rather than being a separate app. This would make it a more seamless experience for users who want to manage a variety of AI-related tasks all in one place.

This new feature has been in development for more than a month. So, Google seems to be actively working on it and may be getting ready to release it to the public soon.
The post Google Gemini „Projects” Feature in the Works to Rival ChatGPT’s appeared first on Android Headlines.

Source: ndroidheadlines.com

Google is constantly working to improve its AI platform, Gemini.
