It wasn’t exactly known for creative edit options or features. However, that reputation might be about to change. Google is reportedly testing a new video editor for its Photos app, and it brings something users have been asking for: advanced text tools.

Google Photos might get a new video editor with advanced text tools

According to a recent teardown of Google Photos version 7.49 (by Android Authority), the app is testing a refreshed video editing tool. With this new video editor, Google Photos gets a proper text editor where users can choose from multiple fonts, text alignment features, and explore a wide range of color palettes.

This is a huge upgrade from the current implementation, which only lets users drop a single, static font with limited color options. Also, the new interface seems to be highly inspired by Instagram Stories. A similar interface and editing features can be seen there as well. The screenshots also reveal tons of new font styles and colors.

Google’s new editor allows more personalization and personality

The teardown also reveals that Google isn’t only focusing on adding text styles. It actually adds more ways to make your text pop. The color picker interface has been redesigned to support dozens of new shades, rather than the previously limited seven shades. It also allows users to add a background highlight behind words for better readability.

With this teardown, it’s pretty clear that Google wants its Photos app to feel less like a passive gallery and more like a creative suite. Also, do keep in mind that the aforementioned feature is still in the testing phase. It doesn’t guarantee its arrival on the stable version. However, keeping the track record of the tech giant in mind, we could soon hear about its rollout.
The post Google Photos’ Video Editor Upgrade Brings Texts, Colors, and Customization appeared first on Android Headlines.

Source: ndroidheadlines.com

For years, Google Photos has been known as the go-to app for photos and video management on most Android devices.
