Samsung is preparing to have its virtual Unpacked event take place on August 5. And we already know that there will be at least three phones announced at this event. Samsung is going to announce the Galaxy Note 20 series, the Galaxy Z Flip 5G and the Galaxy Fold 2.
\nThis isn’t exactly news to many of us, as we’ve seen these rumors before. But now we’re getting this from another source, Jon Prosser. Who has been on top of it when it comes to Apple, Samsung and Google leaks as of late.
\nAccording to Prosser, those three devices will be announced by Samsung at Unpacked on August 5. And they will then go on sale on August 20.
\nThis doesn’t come as a surprise, since Samsung does usually load up its lineup at the fall Unpacked event. And we’re also expecting to see the Galaxy Watch 3, Galaxy BudsX and the Galaxy Tab S7+ announced around the same time. Though they may not be announced at Unpacked \u2013 as has been the case in recent years.
\nSamsung’s first virtual Unpacked event is bound to be a hit
\nFor most people, they’ve only ever watched Samsung Unpacked as a virtual event. As it’s mostly only press and Samsung’s partners that actually attend Unpacked. But this year, it’s going to be all online. And that’s due to the global pandemic that is currently forcing us to change many things.
\nThe event is going to be online and will take place on August 5. Since it is online, Samsung can really announce as many things as they want. As they are going to be the only company doing so that week. This is different compared to regular in-person events, where Samsung would need to give the press time with the device afterwards. And the more devices you announce, the longer the press needs to be there. Of course, that’s some inside baseball stuff that most people don’t know about.
\nMost of the fall smartphones are going to be announced via online-only events. Since many places still can’t have gatherings over 10 or 100 people. And these events \u2013 particularly Samsung \u2013\u00a0 has thousands of people in attendance. Not just the guests, but the executives from the company, as well as the staff that is putting everything together for the event.
\nBut having the Galaxy Note 20 (Note 20, Note 20+ and Note 20 Ultra), the Galaxy Z Flip 5G and Galaxy Fold 2, is going to make this a very exciting event for Samsung and its fans.
