Only just recently gaining the support for wireless play on Chrome a little earlier this year.
\nInitially, the Stadia controller only supported wireless play on Chromecast Ultra, with support for Android and Chrome said to be „coming later on.” At the time users no doubt assumed it would be soon, and not nearly eight months later.
\nNevertheless, the feature is here now, and that means more freedom when playing Stadia games on your mobile device.
\nStadia controller wireless support for Android means more choices
\nStadia has supported wireless controller support on phones since the beginning. But not everyone had an Xbox One wireless controller or a DualShock 4 laying around.
\nOr a mobile controller like the Razer Kishi for that matter. Some may have purchased the Founder or Premiere bundles for the controller with no other gaming platforms in the home. So the added support for wireless play on phones is a big deal.
\nIt gives users more choices for what controller to use, too. For example, you may have another wireless controller to use when you play from your Android device. But maybe you prefer the feel of the Stadia controller.
\nNo longer are you locked into keeping the controller tethered by way of a USB-C cable.
\nThe support will be rolling out to users on June 30
\nOfficially, the feature is here. But in practice users may not be able to access it yet. Google will be rolling out wireless Stadia controller support for phones today, June 30.
\nTo be able to use the controller wirelessly, users will need to have the latest version of the Stadia app. So check your app for available updates and update it if need be. Beyond having the latest version of the Stadia app, users will also need to make sure that their controller and Android phone are on the same WiFi network.
\nAfter that simply launch a game and there should be on-screen instructions for pairing the phone and the controller together. If you aren’t seeing those instructions, then the feature is probably not live for you yet.
\nThe good news with all of this, is that users can now charge their phones while playing Stadia games with the Stadia controller. Which was one of the bigger drawbacks of having to use the wired connection. As charging couldn’t be done at the same time.
\nThe post The Stadia Controller Finally Offers Wireless Support For Android Phones appeared first on Android Headlines.
\n
\nSource: ndroidheadlines.com<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
Today Stadia is finally making it possible to use the Stadia controller in a wireless format when playing games on […]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":3,"featured_media":4118,"comment_status":"false","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[1],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-4117","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-bez-kategorii"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/plus.maciejpiasecki.info\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/4117","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/plus.maciejpiasecki.info\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/plus.maciejpiasecki.info\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/plus.maciejpiasecki.info\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/3"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/plus.maciejpiasecki.info\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=4117"}],"version-history":[{"count":1,"href":"https:\/\/plus.maciejpiasecki.info\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/4117\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":4119,"href":"https:\/\/plus.maciejpiasecki.info\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/4117\/revisions\/4119"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/plus.maciejpiasecki.info\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/4118"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/plus.maciejpiasecki.info\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=4117"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/plus.maciejpiasecki.info\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=4117"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/plus.maciejpiasecki.info\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=4117"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
