The new Sony headphones are the successor to 2018-launched WH-1000XM3. As seen in the leaks, the design of these new wireless noise-canceling headphones looks identical to its predecessor.
The flagship Sony WH-1000XM4 priced at $350 (€389 in Europe) will undercut the Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones 700 by $50. In terms of core functionalities, there should be much difference between these two products. The WH-1000XM4s will be available in Black and Silver color options.
Sony WH-1000XM4 headphones officially launched for $350
As seen on its predecessor, the new Sony WH-1000XM4 also feature two microphones on each earcup and a built-in QN1 HD noise-canceling chip. However, the new algorithm is said to be the main reason behind the improved noise-canceling.
With the WH-1000XM4, Sony has finally decided to include the multi-device support on its flagship headphones. Now, it also supports Google’s Fast Pair on Android smartphones for easy pairing. This will also help in locating the headphones by ringing them.
The new Precise Voice Pickup technology will use the five onboard microphones to improve the voice for hands-free calling or speak-to-chat. Coming to the speak-to-chat feature, the headphones will stop playing music and turn on ambient sound when the user starts speaking. We have to wait and see how helpful this feature can be in real-world situations
As seen on the WH-1000XM3, these new headphones also work with gesture controls on the earcups. With the wear detection feature, WH-1000XMs can detect whether the user is wearing them or not to play or pause the music.
Offer up to 30 hours of music playback on a single charge
Additionally, the Headphones Connect app on iOS and Android devices can be used for making any customizations like surround effect or ambient sound controls. Speaking of battery life, the headphones will last up to 30 hours on a single charge with noise-canceling turned on.
There is also fast charging support which gives up to 5 hours of playback with 10 minutes of quick charge. Interestingly, the headphones will take approximately 3 hours for a complete charge. The headphones support the LDAC codec along with Sony’s own DSEE Extreme and 360 Reality Audio technologies.
The DSEE Extreme will help is upscaling the compressed digital music files in real-time. Whereas, the 360 Reality Audio is only supported by very few streaming services. Moreover, there is no support for Qualcomm’s aptX codec.
The new Sony WH-1000XM4 headphones are currently available for pre-order and will ship starting August 21.

The post Sony WH-1000XM4 Headphones Officially Launched With Multi-device Support appeared first on Android Headlines.

Source: ndroidheadlines.com

After months of rumors and leaks, Sony has finally launched WH-1000XM4 noise-canceling headphones.
