It also scraps the higher price tag in favor of something a lot more affordable.
And by a lot more affordable, we really mean a lot more affordable. Of course, the lack of Wear OS probably plays a role in that lower price tag for the Mobvoi TicWatch GTX. But lower-end components likely add to the capability to lower the price for consumers.
The Mobvoi TicWatch GTX retails for under $60
Mobvoi’s Wear OS options were never really exorbitant when it came to cost. While it did offer one or two options that were upwards of $300 or more, many of its most popular were closer to $150 and below.
But that’s not nearly as low as the TicWatch GTX. Which retails for a price of $59.99. Though it seems to be on Amazon for $53.99 right now from a third-party reseller. The catch is that it doesn’t look to be shipping until at least the end of October.
It’ll also be available from Mobvoi at the listed $59 price. However if you pre-order it you can snag it for the $53.99. Mobvoi will begin shipping the watch on September 3. So if you wait till after then to buy it, the price will probably jump back up to the original $59.99.
Longer-lasting battery life than any Wear OS watch could ever provide
If there was one thing and one thing only to focus on with the TicWatch GTX, it’s the battery life.
It’s longer-lasting than anything you’ll ever get with a smartwatch that runs on Wear OS. And that, is more than likely one of the biggest reasons why Mobvoi chose not to use Wear OS here.
The company is claiming that the TicWatch GTX can last on a single charge for up to ten days. If the watch is in battery saving mode. If it’s not, it won’t last quite that long but it will still last up to seven days. And that’s still much longer than any Wear OS watch in its regular mode.
Wear OS watches have been notorious for being somewhat un-optimized, causing slower functionality due to less than stellar performance and, really short battery life.
With the TicWatch GTX, you’ll more than likely be look at avoiding both of those issues. You do of course give up the most feature-rich parts that a Wear OS watch would provide. Such as apps, the Play Store, and Google Assistant integration.
If you’re ok with that, then this might be the smartwatch for you.

The post Say Goodbye To Wear OS With The New Mobvoi TicWatch GTX appeared first on Android Headlines.

Source: ndroidheadlines.com

Most of the smartwatches from Mobvoi over the last few years have run on Google’s Wear OS platform, but that […]

[1

post-4792","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-bez-kategorii
["GET
