There are lots of options out there for true wireless earbuds and the Urbanears Luma are one of those options. They’re on the more affordable side when you compare them to the likes of the Galaxy Buds Live or Google Pixel Buds.
\nAnd for that lower price you’re getting something that is going to come with less features. Active Noise Cancellation for one. But the main sticking point here is that the Urbanears Luma are available at $99. Which is a pretty decent price for what you get, and a pretty decent price for true wireless earbuds in general.
\nI’ve been using the Urbanears Luma for the last few weeks, and they’ve been my regular audio device for everything from going on short walks to just listening to music while I cook food. In short, I’ve had plenty of time to check them out and have a good feel for their quality.
\nHow do they stack up against other options? What do I like about them? What could be done better? Are they worth the price tag? I’ll be going over all that in this review. So let’s dive in.
\nThe Urbanears Luma work, and that should be your main focal point
\nWith how many options there are out there these days for true wireless earbuds, the main thing you should be focusing on when considering your options, is whether or not those options work, and then go from there to narrow down your choices.
\nThe Urbanears Luma work. And they work pretty decently. The sound comes through clear enough and while they don’t have too much punchy bass, the volume gets loud enough to a point where it somewhat makes up for it.
\nIf you like a pair with more bass, then these aren’t for you. But if your main concern is that they just provide decent sound then you’re off to a good start with the Urbanears Luma.
\nAbout the only complaint I had with these is that there is no Active Noise Cancellation. Furthermore there’s no real noise isolation either because they don’t have a very tight seal like some earbuds. Which is my next point.
\nThese let in a fair amount of sound, especially outdoors<\/p>\n

As noted, this was really my only complaint about these earbuds. They let in a fair amount of sound because they lack Active Noise cancellation and noise isolation features.
\nWhen worn, they don’t create a super tight seal, so it’s easy for sound to get into your ears from outside sources.
\nThis is especially noticeable when you’re actually outside where you can hear traffic whizzing by. I typically wear my earbuds outside whenever I go on walks or runs. Which is a good test of how easy it is to hear outside audio because there’s usually traffic.
\nThis isn’t the end of the world, because you can still turn up the volume which counteracts the outside noises a little. Just not enough to block it out completely.
\nIf this doesn’t bother you too much, or in the slightest, you’ll probably really like these earbuds then. Because they do provide some pretty decent sound and there’s more than enough things to love about them feature-wise.
\nThey offer a pretty good fit in the ears<\/p>\n

Fit is an important trait for any earbuds, especially true wireless ones. Because the last thing you want is for one or both earbuds to fall out at a time where you could easily lose them.
\nThe Urbanears Luma have a pretty good fit in the ears. At no point during my use over the past few weeks have they felt loose or like they would fall out.
\nAnd while they didn’t have a tight enough seal to block out all background noise, they’re tight enough to stay in your ears without being uncomfortable. That being said, I never wore them for more than a few hours at a time.
\nOther earbuds with this type of style have felt a little uncomfortable after about 5 hours of use. So the same could be true here. It’s something worth keeping in mind if you tend to wear your earbuds for long periods.
\nPretty decent battery life but not groundbreaking<\/p>\n

When it comes to battery life the Urbanears Luma are nowhere near groundbreaking. They last for around 5 hours on a single charge.
\nSo you won’t be able to wear them all day without having to toss them into the charging case at least once. Compared to some other true wireless earbud options, 5 hours is a bit on the lower side.
\nBut for my personal use the battery lasted long enough. If you need longer battery life, but still like these earbuds, you’ll need to come to terms with the compromise of having to charge these from time to time.
\nThe good thing is that you get four charges out of the case. So about five charges total, making for around 25 hours of battery life between the earbuds and the additional charges from the case. The case charges with USB-C as well, so it’ll charge up pretty fast.
\nWireless charging is supported as well if you hate cables. Battery life isn’t exceptional but it’s not bad either. It’s simply middle of the road, which is a good way to describe these earbuds as a whole.
\nThey have fun colors and a stylish design which is nothing new for Urbanears<\/p>\n

A big part of Urbanears headphones and other audio products the company sells are the style. Urbanears usually places a certain amount of emphasis on the design.
\nThat comes out more in the color choices with the Luma than it does in the actual design, as the design itself is fairly generic and there are a ton of earbuds that looks almost identical.
\nThe best part about these really in regards to the design are the colors\u00a0and\u00a0Urbanears’ decision to use matte finishes. These make for a really nice design that’s more subtle than bold. This is more of a personal preference, but it’s one worth noting as Urbanears put some thought into this choice.
\nPause and play your music as easily as possible
\nThe Luma definitely aren’t going to be the only earbuds that offer this, but they have a feature that automatically pauses your music the moment you take them out of your ears.
\nOn the flip side they play your music the moment you put them back in. This works via the wear-detect sensors that Urbanears implemented in the earbuds.
\nIt’s just a really nice feature to have and takes away the need to pause or play music from your device or by using a touch control like some other earbuds offer. It’s more seamless and it just made using them more enjoyable.
\nThe verdict \u2013 worth the money but don’t write off other options<\/p>\n

Are the Urbanears Luma worth the $99 they cost? Yes. For the money, these are a pretty good value.
\nHowever, that does not mean you should immediately write off other options. Overall Urbanears made a decent pair of earbuds but personally, I prefer to have either ACN or at least a tighter seal so noise is more easily blocked out.
\nThis might not matter to you. And if it doesn’t, then these are good choice. They don’t cost a whole lot. They’re comfortable. And they have stylish colors with a few neat features.
\nIf you want earbuds with a lot more features, then you’re going to spend more. So what the Luma come down to are that they’re a good mix of features and value. If you’re interested in picking these up, you can do so by grabbing them from the Urbanears shop.
