Ubisoft announced Ubisoft Connect earlier this morning at its official live online event.
\nAccording to Ubisoft, Connect will bring its entire ecosystem into one single offering that players interact with. So there won’t be any need to deal with two separate services.
\nThe more important thing though is that Ubisoft Connect will allow for a multitude of ways to enjoy games from the publisher across platforms. And that’s a big deal. This includes PC, consoles, and platforms like Stadia which Ubisoft has been a big supporter of.
\nUbisoft Connect will standardize cross-platform features for games
\nUbisoft Connect isn’t just about consolidating and organizing things into one place. Though that is a big part of it.
\nTaking a look at the bigger picture, Ubisoft’s plan is to standardize the practice of utilizing more and more cross-platform features for games. While this could eventually lead to more cross-platform play, in the more immediate future it’ll be a backbone of cross-platform progression in a handful of Ubisoft titles.
\nAssassin’s Creed Valhalla, Immortals: Fenyx Rising, and Riders Republic are just a few examples. And, these are all games which are coming to Stadia as well as PC and consoles. This means you’ll be able to save your game data and progression and use it on any platforms where you may own the game. Just like Destiny 2’s cross-save feature.
\nThis is a huge thing for gamers. While not everyone is going to want to own a game on more than one platform, some will. Some may just luckily end up with another copy without having to buy it. In those situations, those players can take their game progression with them in the event that they can’t play on their main platform of choice at any given time.
\nThat equals out to time saved, and probably more time spent enjoying a game because they don’t have to start over completely.
\nUbisoft Connect arrives on October 29
\nIf all of this sounds like something you might want to use, you’re in luck. You won’t have to wait long to dig in as Ubisoft announced that it will be arriving on October 29.
\nThe interface will have a seamless integration with Ubisoft games across all platforms. So getting acquainted with it shouldn’t be challenging and you won’t need to go out of your way to start using it.
\nStarting on the initial launch date, Ubisoft Connect will be available on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Once the Xbox Series X launches on November 10 it’ll be available there as well, and it arrives for PS5 owners on November 15.
\nThe only platforms right now which don’t have an official date are Stadia, GeForce NOW, and Amazon Luna. Ubisoft says it will be coming to those platforms though in 2020. So sometime before the end of the year.<\/p>\n
The post Ubisoft Games Transcend Platform Divides With Ubisoft Connect appeared first on Android Headlines.
\n
\nSource: ndroidheadlines.com<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
Ubisoft is transcending platform divides with its games through a new service\/tool\/feature that it’s calling Ubisoft Connect.
