The latest of the three releases introduced a fix for the camera lag issues many users have been facing since at least last month. It appears this update has now reached the USA. Galaxy S21 phones on Comcast and Xfinity Mobile networks are currently picking up a new software update with the firmware version G99xUSQU4AUF5.
The official changelog from Samsung mentions performance improvements for the Camera app, June 2021 security patch, and overall device stability and performance improvements. However, if we look deep into these pointers, this could be one of the most important updates the Galaxy S21 phones have received since their launch.
As Samsung explained recently, the latest release includes memory and engine optimizations for several camera features. These improvements fix the camera lag and stutter issues. Many Galaxy S21 users have reported seeing crazy lag in the Camera app, where zooming in/out or switching the lenses would take an enormous amount of time. If you’ve been facing this problem on your Galaxy S21, the latest update should fix it.
In addition to this, the new update for the Galaxy S21 series also brings the ability to recognize and read QR codes in photos stored in the Gallery. This feature uses the device’s built-in QR code scanner, which you can access from the notification panel.
Samsung has also improved the Video Call Effect feature with a new manual color function. Lastly, the latest update promises to improve overheating issues. It’s unclear if the devices have any overheating problems though. Perhaps Samsung is improving the thermal management abilities of the devices.
Galaxy S21 series also gets June security patch with the new update
Along with the new features and improvements, the latest update for the Galaxy S21 series also brings the June 2021 Android security patch. This month’s security maintenance release contains fixes for over five dozen vulnerabilities. Those include several Samsung Vulnerability and Exposure items as well.
If you own either of the Galaxy S21. S21+, or the S21 Ultra, you should receive this update anytime now. You can manually check for updates from your phone’s Settings app. Simply navigate to the Software update menu and tap Download and install. As said earlier, the update is currently rolling out for users on Comcast and Xfinity Mobile networks. However, users on other networks should also start receiving the new update soon.
The post Important Galaxy S21 Series Update Reaches The US appeared first on Android Headlines.

Source: ndroidheadlines.com

Depending on the region, Samsung has released as many as three software updates for the Galaxy S21 series this month.
