Recent speculation pointed to a version 3.5, but a new leak from @samsungRydah lets us know that the next update will be One UI version 3.1.1.
News of One UI 3.1.1 comes from a changelog
Last year, Samsung unveiled One UI 2, then it launched One UI 2.1 with version 2.5 following after. This is the pattern that we thought Samsung would follow this year. One UI 3 and 3.1 have already launched this year, with version 3.5 thought to launch.
A changelog in the Nice Catch module shows the text, “New Feature: Media volume muted history (since One UI 3.1.1). This falls in line with a recent tweet from @Universelce that suggested that there will be no One UI 3.5. The tweet goes on to mention version 3.1.1.
One UI 4 is rumored to launch next month
One reason to why we’re getting One UI 3.1.1 is most likely because Samsung is saving its biggest changes for One UI 4. The same tweet from @Universelce also mentions that One UI 4 will be launched next month.
It mentioned that it will be tested exclusively on the new Galaxy S devices next month. This brings some interesting details to light. Firstly, it lets us know that we can expect the next slew of Galaxy S phones to launch next month. with all of the excitement surrounding the foldable phones, it’s easy to overlook the Galaxy S 22 phones.
Speaking of the foldables, they will not be getting One UI 4 when it launches. This is most likely because Samsung will need to do some extra work on the software to make it stable. This definitely goes for the galaxy Z Fold phones. Its software would need to accommodate for both phone mode and tablet mode.
One UI 4 might draw inspiration from a major Android 12 feature
The code name for One UI 4 was just recently unveiled, and it gives some insight to the direction that Samsung might be going. The name is “Palette.” That might not mean much until you factor in Android 12’s Material You. Dynamic color is the feature in Android 12 that takes the main colors of the wallpaper and creates a custom color palette for certain UI elements and apps.
One UI 4 might be taking some notes from Google’s book and doing just that. Since Samsung has an impressive suite of themes and services that can deeply customize the phone’s UI, it shouldn’t be too hard for the company to develop a feature like Dynamic Color.

The post The Next One UI Update Will Be Version 3.1.1 appeared first on Android Headlines.

Source: ndroidheadlines.com

Samsung is in the works of dropping a new update to its One UI.
