Because the Chinese OEM is pushing a new update that brings a bunch of features along with July security patches.
OnePlus launched the OnePlus 9 series phone earlier this year. Huge hype was created around these devices due to the Hasselblad collaboration with OnePlus.
However, it turned out to be a complete marketing gimmick. The camera performance of the OnePlus 9 series devices, is nowhere close to the premium offerings from the likes of Samsungs and iPhones.
Moreover, the company also moved away from being the “Flagship Killer” to be a company offering its premium device for a price tag of $1,000.
Recently, OnePlus also officially announced that it is merging with its parent company, OPPO. OnePlus says this merger will help them in so many ways, one of which is to provide faster updates for its devices.
Coming back to the latest July update, the OnePlus 9 series adds Bitmoji AOD (Always On Display). This will allow users to add their personal Bitmoji avatar as the AOD.
Both OnePlus 9 series phones are receiving stable OxygenOS 11.2.8.8
Additionally, the avatar will change based on the activity and things happening around you. As per the changelog mentioned by Android Central, you can enable this feature by navigating to Settings > Customization > Clock on ambient display > Bitmoji.
Both the OnePlus 9 series phones, i.e. OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro are receiving the stable OxygenOS 11.2.8.8 update via OTA. The update also bumps the security patch level to the latest July 2021.
It also brings the OnePlus Store app. FYI, the OnePlus Store was first launched back in April in North America. Now, it is also arriving for users in India and Europe.
The downside of this new additional app is that you won’t be able to uninstall it, which is a bummer. Whatever the case may be, if you own a OnePlus 9 series device and live in India, North America, or Europe, then you will receive the update notification.
As always, the update is rolling out via OTA in batches. Meaning it won’t be available for everyone at once. You can check for the update manually by heading over to Settings > System > System updates.
Besides, you can also make use of the Oxygen Updater app available on the Google Play Store. It fetches the update package files from the official OnePlus servers and you can update your phone, locally.
The post New OnePlus 9 Series July Update Adds Bitmoji AOD & OnePlus Store appeared first on Android Headlines.

Source: ndroidheadlines.com

If you own a OnePlus 9 series device, which includes OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro, then you are in […]

[1

post-8230","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-bez-kategorii
["GET
