The August 2021 security update is now available for the company’s latest flagships, the Galaxy S21 series. The new update is currently rolling out to users in China but should soon make its way into other markets.
The Chinese versions of the Galaxy S21, S21+, and S21 Ultra are currently picking up the August update with the build number G99x0ZCU2AUGE. According to a tweet by noted tipster Ice Universe, the OTA (over the air) download size is just over 300MB (via SamMobile).
The changelog mentions bug fixes and device stability and security improvements. So this update might address some additional unknown issues along with the latest vulnerability fixes from Google and Samsung. Talking about vulnerability fixes, the Korean firm has yet to publish the updated security bulletin for the next month. So it’s unclear which vulnerabilities have been fixed with the latest security patch for Galaxy smartphones. We will likely get to know these details next week.
Galaxy S21 series joins Samsung’s August security update party
There’s still a day left in July but Samsung has already rolled out the August security update to several Galaxy smartphone models. The rollout began a few days back, with the Galaxy A52 having the distinction of getting it first. The Korean giant then surprised everyone by releasing the new update to the Galaxy A8 (2018). The Galaxy A72 joined the party yesterday and now, the Galaxy S21 series is joining as well.
Though the new update is currently available for users in China only, it shouldn’t take long for Samsung to begin the rollout in other regions. Hong Kong and Taiwan could get it next, followed by other international markets. If you’re using any of the Galaxy S21, S21+, and S21 Ultra, you can be on the lookout for this update in the coming days. You should receive a notification prompting you to download the update over the air.
You can also manually check for updates from your phone’s Settings app. Simply navigate to the Software update menu and tap Download and install. If an OTA update is is available, you’ll be prompted to download it on the next screen. If there’s no update available, check back later. Samsung has been pretty quick in releasing the latest security update to its flagship series. So it’s only a matter of time now.

CHINA VERSION S21 updated August patch pic.twitter.com/KUSyOasV1G
— Ice universe (@UniverseIce) July 30, 2021

The post August Security Update Is Here For The galaxy S21 Series appeared first on Android Headlines.

Source: ndroidheadlines.com

Samsung is once again leaving the competition behind in releasing the latest Android security patch to its devices.
