The company says it wants to bring the functionality of the S-Pen over to other devices, including the Galaxy Z Fold 3.<br \/>\nSo, the Galaxy Note 20 series is probably the last Galaxy Note series device you can own right now. In another sad news for Galaxy Note fans, the company has ended monthly software support for the Galaxy Note 9, which debuted back in 2018.<br \/>\nThe Samsung Galaxy Note 8 was one of the best Note devices produced by Samsung. Its successor, the Galaxy Note 9, came up with nice upgrades, making it a hit Note series device.<br \/>\nHowever, fast forward to now, in 2021, Samsung has decided to downgrade the update support for Galaxy Note 9. It has been moved from monthly update support to a quarterly update support schedule.<br \/>\nThis means, from now on, the Galaxy Note 9 will receive an update every four months. Notably, the last update for the Galaxy Note 9 came in the form of an August 2021 security patch.<br \/>\nThis new change in the update support schedule has been reflected on Samsung \u201cWork Scope\u201d page<br \/>\nFor more information on this new change in the update support schedule, you can head over to the Samsung \u201cWork Scope\u201d page. The phone will probably remain with quarterly update support for around one more year, after which it will be dropped to biannual update support.<br \/>\nAnd one more year after that, the update support will entirely end for the device. Well, Galaxy Note 9 isn\u2019t the only Samsung phone that is facing this demotion in update support.<br \/>\nAs per 9To5Google, the Galaxy A03s and Galaxy F42 5G have been added to the quarterly support list. Whereas, on the opposite side, the newly launched Galaxy Z Flip 3 and Z Fold 3 have been added to the monthly update support list, along with the Galaxy A52s 5G.<br \/>\nSamsung has also moved the Galaxy A10s to the biannual schedule. Last but not least, the update support for Galaxy S8 Lite and Galaxy Note FE has been dropped entirely.<br \/>\nSo, if you own any of the devices among Galaxy S8 Lite and Note FE, your device won\u2019t be receiving any new updates from now on.<br \/>\nWhile this change is understandable, as older the devices get, it becomes difficult to keep them updated.
