Google Assistant has been injected into just about every corner of the Google ecosystem, and it doesn\u2019t seem to be slowing down. According to 9To5Google, YouTube is now getting the treatment, as Google is looking to integrate the Assistant into it. This was spotted on youtube.com\/new.
\nGoogle Assistant will power related content suggestions
\nIt\u2019s pretty easy to summon the Assistant in a video; all you have to do is go to a video, go into the description, and scroll down. You should see a card that says \u201csuggestions.\u201d Tapping on it reveals a bunch of information pertaining to the video\u2019s topic.
\nIf you\u2019re looking up a movie, for instance, the suggestions will give you the cast and relevant crew members. Watching videos about songs will give you information about the artists.
\nIf Google Assistant identifies the general topic of the YouTube video, it\u2019ll give you suggestions for other content types like videos, pictures, books, movies, etc. The aim of this feature is all about providing additional context for what you\u2019re watching.
\nDon\u2019t despair if you don\u2019t see the suggestions on every video. You can\u2019t expect every video to pertain to a certain topic, so Google Assistant will only pop up on a certain number of videos. This is all AI-based, so there will definitely be videos that fall through the cracks. Also, we can expect a lot of videos that aren\u2019t really popular to get overlooked as well.
\nYou can get Google Assistant suggestions on YouTube, but there\u2019s a catch
\nIf you have a YouTube Premium membership, go to the YouTube new page and scroll down just a bit until you find \u201cDo more with Assistant.\u201d From that point, just click the \u201cTry It Out\u201d button, and you\u2019re good to go.
\nIf you fall in love with the feature, you might be sad to know that it\u2019s only available for a limited time. Google is merely testing out this feature to see if it resonates with users. The company will be testing this out until October 26th, at which point, it\u2019ll be taken away. But hey, if enough people enable the feature, it might stick around permanently.

YouTube is also testing video downloads for the browser
\nIf you look at the YouTube new page, you\u2019ll also see that Google is testing out downloading videos via the browser. Previously, people could only download videos on the mobile app. Now, with this experiment, users can download videos on the browser and watch them offline.
\nIf you\u2019re interested just know that YouTube is only testing this out until October 9th. Also, you can only try out one project at a time. If you pick this, you won\u2019t get the Google Assistant suggestions.
