The Huawei Mate 30 series will become official on September 19 in Munich. The company has confirmed that via its official Twitter page.
As part of the Mate 30 series, the company is expected to announce two phones on that day. The Huawei Mate 30 and Mate 30 Pro will become official.
Huawei Mate 30 Lite may arrive as well
These two devices will become Huawei’s new flagship offerings, though the Mate 30 Lite is also expected to arrive at some point. The Mate 30 Lite will be a mid-range handset, however.
In its confirmation on Twitter, Huawei shared a short teaser video as well. Huawei used a huge circle in order to tease these two phones, probably because of their circular camera setup.
Huawei explicitly stated „Huawei Mate30 Series” in that teaser, so things are quite clear. The company also used the „Rethink Possibilities” hashtag, which seems to be an official catchphrase for this launch.
Huawei will livestream the event from Germany, which is also something that was mentioned in the tweet. Huawei even shared a page through which that content will be available, you can access it by clicking here. Chances are that the livestream will take place on YouTube. The company did share its very own website for the livestream content, but YouTube link will probably be embedded there.
The Huawei Mate 30 and Mate 30 Pro have been leaking for a while now. The two devices have surfaced in several images, though not to the extent we were expecting.
Circular camera setup & waterdrop display notch
If those leaks are accurate, though, the two phones will be made out of metal and glass. Both devices will include a waterdrop display notch on the front, and extremely thin bezels.
A circular camera setup will be available on the back, with four cameras included there. An LED flash will be placed inside of that camera setup as well, while Huawei’s logo will be included on the back.
The Huawei Mate 30 Pro will probably include a curved display, while the Mate 30 will not. Both phones will offer OLED panels, though.
The Kirin 990 64-bit octa-core processor will fuel both phones. This is the company’s upcoming flagship processor, and it is expected to launch along with these two devices.
Android 10 is expected to come pre-installed on both phones, though a recent report brings that into question. Huawei may be forced to utilize Harmony OS on both devices instead, we’ll see. Huawei did say that Android will come pre-installed, but the aforementioned report brings a large question mark to that statement.
