Movado Unveils Connect 2.0 With Wear OS & A Range Of Styles

Movado has unveiled the Connect 2.0, and it comes with Wear OS as well as in a range of styles.
The new collection also comes in a range of prices to match, based on the different options you choose for the watch case and strap. The new Connect watch also comes with notable improvements over the last model, not the least of which is 1GB of RAM.
The Movado Connect 2.0 starts at $495
This isn’t an inexpensive smartwatch. On the contrary, it’s sitting at the higher end of the spectrum in regards to price. Movado is a luxury brand though, so a higher price is expected.
The cost of the watch also starts at $495. The price will go up from there depending on the watch options you choose. The stainless steel color case with the black leather strap for example is $550. Meanwhile the model with the matching stainless steel bracelet (which comes in three colors) retails for $795.
If the price doesn’t deter you and what you’re looking for in a smartwatch is a luxury option, this is it. More than just high-quality materials and Movado’s brand name, the watch comes with a Snapdragon Wear 3100 processor, 1GB of RAM, and more.
A rotating smart crown and programmable buttons offer increased functionality
New hardware on the inside is great, and the handful of style options are nothing to shake a stick at. And, while the Connect 2.0 might seem like a smartwatch that favors form over function, but it’s got function too.
On the right side of the watch there’s a rotating smart crown that allows for navigation and serves as a power button. The other two buttons are programmable so the user can set them to launch specific apps or complete other functions.
This is always a nice touch because it leads to having to touch the screen less. That means minimizing the amount of smudges and gunk left on the display.
Available for pre-order today, shipping by October 14
If you’re looking for an upgrade, the Movado Connect 2.0 is available for pre-order starting today.
All styles can be purchased too, and you can even buy some of the straps by themselves if you want more than one, and those will range from $45 to $245 depending on the one you choose.
Actual availability of the watch is a few weeks out. Movado says it will start shipping them on or by October 14. In addition to things like the smart crown and programmable buttons, the watch also features a heart rate sensor, NFC with Google Pay support, untethered GPS, 8GB of memory and up to 24 hours of battery life.
If the cost of Movado’s latest is a little too rich for our blood, there are other less expensive and just as viable options. Fossil recently announced the Gen 5, and Puma even announced its own smartwatch as well.
