The Galaxy Watch Active 2 is a really great smartwatch. In fact, it won our smartwatch of the year award. It’s a really great fitness tracker/smartwatch hybrid.
Like most smartwatches these days, the Galaxy Watch Active 2 offers up the ability to track your fitness. This includes tracking your steps, calories burned, workouts and much more. It can even track your sleep. Which is pretty important to a number of people. Since the Galaxy Watch Active 2 is also waterproof, it can track your swimming too. Now that’s a pretty cool feature to have.
As a smartwatch, it will show you all of your notifications on your wrist. Unlike Wear OS, it doesn’t depend on app support, but actual features that you can use. Like Samsung Pay, or the ability to call an Uber. And even the ability to take a call on your wrist. There is also Bixby support, but you can disable that if you’re not a big Bixby user.
What really sets the Galaxy Watch Active 2 apart from competitors like Wear OS smartwatches and the Apple Watch, is battery life. It doesn’t need to be charged every single day, the battery can last you around 4 days on a single charge. Which is mostly unheard of in the smartwatch space. The larger 44mm model will last about a day longer than the smaller 40mm.
