Yet Another Samsung Galaxy S11 Leak Hints At Tiny Bezels

The latest bit of Galaxy S11 leaks — or Galaxy S20, if a recent leak is to be believed — gives us a glimpse of the size differences between the three upcoming Galaxy S flagship models. Tipster Ice Universe has attained protective covers for the Galaxy S11, S11e, and S11 Plus, and they reiterate what we’ve been seeing all along.
As you can see in the image below, Samsung has further shrunk the bezels with the Galaxy S11 series. Minimalist bezels can be seen only at the top and the bottom. All three screen protectors feature cutouts at the top to accommodate the front-facing speaker. Previous protector leaks lacked those cutouts, which gave rise to the speculation that the Galaxy S11 may feature sound-on-display technology. Samsung debuted this technology on the Galaxy M40 earlier this year but hasn’t added it on any new phone since.

If we go by this leak, the Galaxy S11e appears to be considerably smaller than the Galaxy S11. However, that doesn’t mean the S11e will be a tiny flagship. In fact, it’s the S11 that’s a lot bigger than the S11e. It is much closer to the S11 Plus in both length and width.
If previous rumors are to be believed, the S11e will feature a 6.2-inch display. And unlike the Galaxy S10e, which featured a flat display, the Galaxy S11e will be featuring a curved display, much like its other two siblings. The S11 and S11 Plus will feature  6.7-inch and 6.9-inch displays respectively.
It’s not just the screens that are getting bigger this time around, though. Samsung is moving on from a compact flagship to make way for bigger batteries in these devices. Those may be much needed because we’re expecting a 120 Hz display refresh rate and 5G connectivity on the upcoming flagships.
Galaxy S11 or Galaxy S20?
Interestingly, it was Ice Universe who recently suggested that the Galaxy S series may undergo a change in the naming scheme next year. The handsets will reportedly be called Galaxy S20, S20e, and S20 Plus, which seems fairly reasonable too. However, the same tipster has now addressed the devices as Galaxy S11, S11e, and S11 Plus in their latest tweet. And that’s why it is always advisable to treat these leaks with some skepticism.
Samsung will likely launch the handsets in mid-February next year, ahead of the MWC 2020 in Barcelona. So it won’t be a too-long wait before we get to know which of these leaks were accurate and which were not.
