The Huawei P40 and P40 Pro have just been certified in China. The two devices appeared on TENAA, China’s equivalent to the FCC.
In some cases, TENAA shares quite a few specifications for upcoming devices, including their images. Well, that is not the case this time around, as only barebones information has appeared on the site.
Both Huawei P40 smartphones got certified, with 5G support
The only confirmation that we got from this is the fact that both devices will support 5G connectivity. That is to be expected, though, as we’re in 2020. We’re just not sure whether all variants of the two phones will offer 5G support from.
That is quite possible, though, as 5G support essentially comes with the Kirin 990 processor, no extra hardware is needed. Just because the Kirin 990 is included, doesn’t mean 5G will be enabled on some units, though. We’ll see what will happen.
In any case, the Huawei P40 appeared with the model number 'Huawei ANA-AN00/ANA-TN00′. The Huawei P40 Pro, on the other hand, has been certified under model number 'ELS-AN00/ELS-TN00′.
We already know that the two phones will become official at the end of March. That information has been confirmed by the company’s CEO. The two devices are actually expected to get announced on March 26 in Paris, though that information has not been confirmed just yet.
We’ve actually shared some exclusive renders of the Huawei P40 Pro last month. The regular model also surfaced a while back, so we know what to expect in terms of the design.
Both devices will be made out of metal and glass. A special edition of the P40 Pro will also be available, with a ceramic back. That phone may include 'PE’ (Premium Edition?) in its name.
Both phones will include curved displays, and a large camera module
The Huawei P40 Pro’s display will be curved on all sides, and so will the P40, it seems. Both devices will have a fairly large camera module on the back, though the 'Pro’ model will offer more in that regard.
The two devices will offer extremely thin bezels. Both will sport a pill-shaped display camera hole, though. That hole will be placed in the top-left corner, and will be quite noticeable.
Android 10 will come pre-installed on both P40 smartphones, in case you were wondering. Huawei’s Emotion UI (EMUI) skin will also sit on top of Google’s operating system.
You can expect both devices to offer proper certification for water and dust resistance. Extremely fast charging will be included, and fast wireless charging will be a part of the offering as well.
