Phone Comparisons: OnePlus 7T Pro vs OPPO Find X2 Pro

In this article, we’ll compare two sister phones, the OnePlus 7T Pro vs OPPO Find X2 Pro. Why sister phones, as they’re coming from different companies? Well, both OnePlus and OPPO are owned by a company called BBK Electronics. These two companies tend to use each other’s technology, and sometimes even borrow design ideas.
Having said that, the OnePlus 7T Pro and OPPO Find X2 Pro do not exactly share the same design, far from it. Both of these phones are quite large, and do have some things in common, but in general, they’re not that similar. They are, however, the most powerful smartphones these two companies have to offer at the moment.
The OnePlus 8 series is expected to launch next month, but until that happens, this is the best OnePlus and OPPO have to offer. The OPPO Find X2 Pro is technically (half) a generation ahead of the OnePlus 7T Pro. Having that in mind, you’re probably wondering how is the OnePlus 7T Pro holding up. OnePlus 7T Pro vs OPPO Find X2 Pro: Design
The OnePlus 7T Pro comes in a single design variant, while the OPPO Find X2 Pro has two, actually. The OnePlus 7T Pro is made out of metal and glass. The OPPO Find X2 Pro’s regular variant is made out of metal and ceramic, while the other variant offers metal + Vegan Leather combination. That variant is considerably less slippery, needless to say. The other variant is quite slippery, as is the OnePlus 7T Pro.
Having said that, both of these phones are quite large. The OPPO Find X2 Pro is a bit taller, it’s narrower than the OnePlus 7T Pro. The OnePlus 7T Pro and the ceramic variant of the OPPO Find X2 Pro weigh about the same. The Vegan Leather model is a bit lighter. Both of these phones include curved displays, and extremely thin bezels.
The OPPO Find X2 Pro features a display camera hole which is not something you can say for the OnePlus 7T Pro. The OnePlus 7T Pro sports a pop-up camera, and thus does not have any distractions on the display. Both phones offer curved backplates. Speaking of which, both phones have multiple camera sensors on the back.
The OnePlus 7T Pro’s camera module is centered on the back, and it offers vertically-aligned cameras. The OPPO Find X2 Pro’s camera module is moved to the left, and its cameras are also vertically-aligned. Both camera modules protrude on the back, by the way. Both of these phones are quite sleek.
We’d hand the win in this category to the OnePlus 7T Pro, if not for the Vegan Leather OPPO Find X2 Pro. The OnePlus 7T Pro looks nicer overall, both on the front, and the back, but that Vegan Leather variant of the Find X2 Pro gives you options. You can opt to get a phone that is not extremely slippery. On top of that, OPPO utilized ceramic on the back of the other variant, which is stronger than the glass on the OnePlus 7T Pro. Therefore, this is a tie in our book.
Winner: Tie
OnePlus 7T Pro vs OPPO Find X2 Pro: Display
These two phones utilize displays that are approximately the same size. The OnePlus 7T Pro includes a 6.67-inch panel, while the Find X2 Pro comes with a 6.7-inch display. Both of those displays are of an OLED variety, and both are QHD+ displays. The OnePlus 7T Pro’s panel has support for HDR10+, while the Find X2 Pro is limited to HDR 10.
The OnePlus 7T Pro’s panel is protected by the Gorilla Glass 5, while the Find X2 Pro offers Gorilla Glass 6 protection. The Find X2 Pro comes with a taller display aspect ratio, and thus offers a slightly higher resolution. Both of these displays offer high refresh rates. OnePlus’ offers a refresh rate of up to 90Hz, while the Find X2 Pro’s goes up to 120Hz. That difference is noticeable, by the way.
To regular users, refresh rate difference may not mean much, but to the rest of you, 120Hz is the way to go these days. It is noticeable any time something is moving across the display. The difference is much more noticeable between 60Hz and 120Hz than it is between 90Hz and 120Hz, though. So, if you already have a phone with a 90Hz display, 120Hz is really not necessary.
That being said, both of these displays are gorgeous. They offer those deep OLED blacks, punchy colors, and are tuned really well by the two companies. We have to say that the Find X2 Pro’s display pops a bit more. It simply looks better side by side, as OPPO really did spend a lot of time tweaking this panel. They’re both great displays, but we’ll give this comparison to the Find X2 Pro.
Winner: OPPO Find X2 Pro
OnePlus 7T Pro vs OPPO Find X2 Pro: Performance
In terms of performance, both of these phones are stellar. The OnePlus 7T Pro does a great job keeping up with the Find X2 Pro, despite the fact it has an older CPU. It also comes with older RAM as well, but that doesn’t influence its performance, at all. Both of these phones are extremely fast, never mind what you’re doing with them.
Both phones open apps extremely fast, while multitasking is also no issue whatsoever. Consuming multimedia is a breeze, as is browsing, taking pictures, and so on. Even if you’re a gamer, you’ll be right at home here. Both of these phones can run even the most demanding games from the Play Store with ease.
The OPPO Find X2 Pro does have more powerful internals, but that’s really not noticeable in the performance department. The Find X2 Pro may be more future proof because of its internals, but as things stand at the moment, they are on the same playing field. OnePlus’ phones are also well-known for aging well, so if you get the 7T Pro now, chances are you won’t be forced to replace it anytime soon.
Winner: Tie
OnePlus 7T Pro vs OPPO Find X2 Pro: Battery
The OPPO Find X2 Pro has a larger battery than the OnePlus 7T Pro, but not by much. Battery capacity doesn’t really mean all that much if the software is not optimized, though, does it. Well, you’ll be glad to know that both of these companies did a good job with software optimization. We did notice a somewhat better battery life on the OnePlus 7T Pro, and the higher refresh rate on the FInd X2 Pro may be the reason why.
With the OnePlus 7T Pro, we were able to get over 6.5-7 hours of screen on time, regularly. The Find X2 Pro was a bit below that, around 6-6.5 hours of screen on time. That’s not a huge difference, but it’s worth noting nonetheless. You should also keep in mind that we’ve used max resolution (auto setting) and max refresh rate on both phones.
Neither of these two phones support wireless charging, nor reverse wireless charging. Both phones have really fast wired charging, though. The OnePlus 7T Pro comes with 30W Warp Charge fast charging. The Find X2 Pro, on the other hand, offers 65W SuperVOOC 2.0 fast charging. OPPO’s charging is faster, but OnePlus’ is nothing to scoff at. We’ll end this segment with a tie as well. The OnePlus 7T Pro does offer slightly better battery life, but the Find X2 Pro has faster charging.
Winner: Tie
OnePlus 7T Pro vs OPPO Find X2 Pro: Cameras
The OnePlus 7T Pro has been out in the market for quite some time. Its cameras were quite capable from the get-go, at it got many improvements from the OnePlus 7 Pro. Over the last couple of months, OnePlus even improved those cameras a bit. The OPPO Find X2 Pro is quite capable in that regard as well, though. Which one is better, though?
Well, it all depends on what you need. In daylight, no matter what sensors you’re using, you’ll get great results from both devices. Both phones are capable of offering really sharp and detailed pictures, with plenty of colors, great dynamic range, and white balance. The differences are much more noticeable when the light goes away, for sure.
The OPPO Find X2 Pro has Sony’s new 48-megapixel IMX689 sensor. The OnePlus 7T Pro uses a generation older sensor from the same manufacturer. OnePlus did a good job optimizing software for that sensor, but low light results that OPPO can offer are more compelling. It offers more detail in low light conditions, while it also handles street lights better. The difference is not huge, but it’s noticeable.
Ultrawide pictures from both phones are great, though the Find X2 Pro has an advantage when it comes to low light yet again. Its periscope camera system doesn’t do all that well in low light, but that is to be expected. You can use it in good and moderate lighting for really satisfying results, though. Up to 10x it’s extremely usable, everything above that we wouldn’t recommend, but you can get some decent shots above that level as well, as long as you don’t go up to 20-30x. All in all, the Find X2 Pro is the winner here.
Winner: OPPO Find X2 Pro
OnePlus 7T Pro vs OPPO Find X2 Pro: Audio
Both the OnePlus 7T Pro and OPPO Find X2 Pro feature stereo speakers. The main speaker, on both phones, is located on the bottom. The secondary speaker can be found above the display, below the earpiece grille. Neither of these two phones has a 3.5mm headphone jack, however, you’ll be forced to use a Type-C port or Bluetooth headphones.
Having said that, speakers on both phones are really good. They get plenty loud, and the distortion at high volumes is barely noticeable. The sound is very crisp, and overall, they’re great speakers. As far as headphones are concerned, the mids and highs are especially good, the lows are not bad either, as long as you have a good pair of headphones. That goes for both devices.

That brings us to the end of the OnePlus 7T Pro vs OPPO Find X2 Pro comparison. As you can see, the OPPO Find X2 Pro technically won, but only barely. Despite the 'Tie’ in the design category, the 7T Pro is a better-looking phone. It does not exactly trail much in the display category either. The OPPO Find X2 Pro reigns supreme in the camera department, but the OnePlus 7T Pro is no slouch in that regard either. All in all, the OnePlus 7T Pro is probably the better purchasing option due to its price tag. On top of that, it’s more likely to get timely updates, plus its software is great. Still, though, this comparison belongs to the OPPO Find X2 Pro.
