At CES 2020, TCL announced the 10L, 10 Pro, and 10 5G smartphones. The company has added two new smartphones to its 10 series — TCL 10 Plus and TCL 10 SE. Both these smartphones are now officially announced in Russia.
However, the company is yet to reveal pricing or availability details. The devices will be running on Android 10 out of the box with TCL UI on top.
As seen on previous TCL 10 smartphones, these new smartphones also sport horizontally-aligned cameras on the rear. There is also a dedicated button on the left edge for triggering Google Assistant.
TCL 10 Plus and 10 SE comes with waterdrop notch displays
The TCL 10 Plus comes with a 6.47-inch AMOLED display with Full HD+ (2340 x 1080 pixels) resolution and waterdrop notch. It is also mentioned to support HDR10 and Always-On modes as well. Under the hood is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 Mobile Platform, a decent choice for a mid-range smartphone.
It will be available with 6GB/8GB of RAM and 64GB/128GB/256GB of internal storage. It also comes with microSD card slot support. The quad-camera setup on the rear features a 48MP primary, an 8MP ultra-wide, a 2MP macro, and a 2MP depth sensors.
The curved glass with a matte finish design gives a premium look to the TCL 10 Plus. On the front, it is equipped with a 16MP selfie camera with an aperture of f/2.2. It packs a 4,5000mAh battery and supports Quick Charger 3.0 fast charging.
The TCL 10 Plus also comes with an in-display fingerprint scanner. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, GPS, 3.5mm audio jack, and a USB Type-C port.
Initially, the device will be available in Starlight Silver and Moonlight Blue color options. In terms of specifications, the TCL 10 Plus shares quite a few similarities with the previously launched TCL 10L. On the other hand, the TCL 10 SE will be the most affordable smartphone in the series.
No information about availability in the US
The 6.52-inch display on this device only comes with HD+ (1600 x 720 pixels) resolution. It also uses the two-year MediaTek Helio P22 octa-core processor coupled with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage.
Interestingly, the company seems to be sticking with high-resolution cameras throughout its 10-series lineup. The triple camera setup on the TCL 10 SE also uses a 48MP sensor for its primary camera. On the front, the waterdrop notch houses an 8MP camera for selfies and video calls.
Even though the 10 SE comes with a slightly bigger display, it actually houses a smaller 4,000mAh battery. Also, it supports just 15W fast charging. Moreover, the fingerprint scanner is moved to the rear of the device.  The TCL 10 SE comes in Icy Silver and Polar Night colors.
With NFC support, both devices will also support Google Pay for contactless payments. While these two new devices are currently limited to the Russian market, we expect the company to soon bring them to the US market.
