After enjoying success in the smartphone market, Oppo is venturing into the smartwatch category. Back in March, Oppo unveiled its Oppo Watch in the home country of China. And today, Oppo Watch is now live for international customers. Notably, this smartwatch from Oppo packs in Google’s Wear OS on board. With a strikingly similar appearance (well, almost all of it!) to the Apple Watch, Oppo Watch is like an Apple Watch with Wear OS under the hood.
Moreover, this is the first smartwatch with a dual-curved display. If you find it hard to imagine, it is just like the curved display you are used to on Android smartphones. Matter of fact, there are several Oppo phones that spot the curved display. Now shifting our focus onto the specifications, Oppo Watch will come in two variants, i.e. the 46mm and 41mm sizes. Note that the bigger model offers the option of LTE connectivity, while the smaller one misses it. However, the duo comes equipped with WiFi.
There are tons of fitness features included in the smartwatch. For instance, it comes with in-built voice coaching for fitness run, fat burn run, outdoor walk, cycling, and swimming. There are 5 sensors and a GPS installed to accurately tracks all of your stats. It also comes with an always-on heart-rate monitor, which lets you track your heart, regardless of whether you are working out or relaxing. Sleep Tracking is also included with this Oppo Watch.
Oppo Watch 46mm comes with 430mAh battery can charge 50% in 15 minutes
Both variants of the smartwatch share the same design. However, the 41mm model comes with a 1.6-inch AMOLED display, with 360 x 320p resolution. It sports a screen-to-body ratio of 65.22% with a 300mAh battery. Meanwhile, the 46mm Oppo Watch comes with a 1.91-inch AMOLED display that boasts 476 x 402p resolution and 72.76% screen-to-body ratio with 430mAh battery. Outside, there are two buttons, out of which one os programmable to any shortcut. But a downside of this smartwatch is that you have to buy bands meant only for this Oppo Watch. Meaning that you cannot slap any other smartwatch’s band on this watch.
Under the hood, it comes powered with the Snapdragon 3100 chipset with Google Pay, Google Maps, and other Google services support. A cool feature that Oppo has included with this smartwatch is that with the help of AI, it can match the watch face with the photo of your outfit. Both the variants have Oppo’s super-fast charging technology, VOOC Flash Charging.
Talk about the price of these products, the 41mm model will cost you around £229 (roughly $300). While the larger 46mm will shell out £369 (around $480) from your pocket. Note that customers in the UK need to wait till October to get their wrist on this smartwatch from Oppo. To know more about the Oppo Watch, you can head here.
