There are tons of different games on the platform that revolve around space exploration with a range of different gameplay mechanics. But this one comes from a tried and true franchise that has been around for well over a decade.
We’re talking about EVE Online. Specifically in this case the game is EVE Echoes. This isn’t a mobile adaption of the PC game, but it does offer plenty of the same familiarities you might find in it. Such as political intrigue, vast space battles, strategy-based gameplay and more.
A space game on Android for the ages, packed with content
EVE Echoes is loaded with what you might expect from a game in the series. It’s heavily strategy-based, so if you’re not used to playing games in this genre then there might be a bit of a learning curve for you.
But the payoff is worth it as there is lots on offer. There’s a pretty deep story layered under all of the decisions you’ll make. So if you prefer games that offer dialogue that allows you to become invested in the narrative, EVE Echoes doesn’t really disappoint.
This is an MMO after all. There are more than 100 ships to acquire and build up your fleet. If domination is what you desire, building up your fleet is the first thing that should be on your mind.
There are a ton of other elements to dive into as well. You can fly around the vast reaches of space and harvest for resources. Which you can sell in an economy that is completely player-driven. But be cautious as piracy is a thing in this game as well.
Meaning you might just run into someone who will chase you down, board your ship and take everything you have of value.
The servers aren’t coming online until tomorrow
As a space game on Android, EVE Echoes is about as complex yet exciting as one might hope for in this day and age.
But the game isn’t playable yet. While you can download it from the Play Store right now, the servers aren’t coming online until August 13. Which is tomorrow. That being said there is always a chance that things will be coming online early.
EVE Echoes is a free-to-play game. Micro transactions are supported, though during a test of the early access builds it didn’t appear that progression was heavily reliant upon them.
