One of the most popular apps for playing videos on smartphones, MX Player is getting updated with features like in-app YouTube playback, picture-in-picture, Chromecast local files, and much more.
MX Player is not just an application to run video files. Users can take advantage of the app in playing different formats of audio files as well. So, it’s a one-stop-shop for all entertainment purposes.
All these features are landing for the MX Player beta version of the app. Apart from these features, the app also picks up pinch-to-zoom functionality that lets users zoom in and fill the entire display of their device.
Notably, this new MX Player beta update aims at improving the all-around video playback experience of the users. There is also a new feature that adds YouTube search and playback functionalities.
In order to search for any video in the MX Player app, you need to switch over to the 'Video’ tab from the bottom bar. Then need to hit the search button at the top right corner of the screen.
So, with this beta update, MX Player now becomes the hub of all video playback. And not just an app for playing local files. Moreover, the video playback speed controls are also now much easier to access.
All these features are live for the MX Player Beta app version 1.30
The update also brings more control over file management like copy, paste, or move audio/video files. This is another great feature worth mentioning, as you would not need any dedicated file manager app to perform those small tasks.
However, recommended videos from YouTube will not get listed in MX Player. Instead of recommended videos from YouTube, MX Player will list down its own content below the YouTube videos.
So, in doing so, the app will take advantage of YouTube functionalities and also promote its own content.
Note that these features are not live for the stable version of the app. In fact, all these features are arriving for the MX Player beta version 1.30 of the app.
MX Player has transitioned itself from being a simple video player to being a full-fledged streaming platform. There are over 100,000+ hours of content including original and exclusive Shows, Movies, TV Shows, Web Series.
And now with all these YouTube-like features, MX Player is bound to bring a more enhanced user experience, especially a great video watching experience.
The update is live for the beta users of the app. Users can wait for the company to port over these new features to the stable version of the app. Or can get the APK file from APK Mirror by clicking the below download button.
