Good news for the owners of Samsung Galaxy S20, S10, Galaxy Note 20, and Note 10, because the Korean OEM is now pushing the latest November 2020 security update for the devices.
Samsung has improved in the software update department. It was mocked mercilessly about 4-5 years ago. However, the company started giving importance to software updates.
And Samsung has now become one of the leaders, if not the leader, in terms of rolling out new updates. Especially when it comes to rolling out security updates, Samsung has always been at the forefront.
Moreover, Samsung this year also gave a treat to its users. As it announced that Galaxy devices will be getting 3 years of software updates. Meaning devices on Android 10 would get OS updates till Android 13. Isn’t that great?
After this announcement, Samsung joined the likes of OnePlus and Google, which also offers three years of software updates. And this is something that all other OEMs should follow.
Now coming back to the updates for the Galaxy S20, S10, Galaxy Note 20, and Note 10 devices, the common thing is that they all are picking the latest security patch. However, the update arrives with different changelogs and versions for all the devices.
Galaxy devices are picking up the latest November 2020 security updates via OTA
Talking about the Galaxy Note 20 update, it is quite simple and arrives with version ATJA. As it simply bumps the security patch level of the phone to November 2020. And it does not anything new to the device.
The same is in the case with the Galaxy S20 device. It is also getting an incremental security update. The good news for the Galaxy S10 users is that there are some additional features packed with the November update.
Notably, for the Galaxy S10 devices, the update brings Wi-Fi and camera stability improvements. But that’s about it for the update for the Galaxy S10 series. It arrives with version DTJA.
As far as the changelog for the Galaxy Note 10 and Note 10+ is concerned, the changelog is not known at this time. The November update arrives with version DTJ4.
As per Sammobile, the update may pack something more than simply the November 2020 security patch, as the firmware version suggests so. We will have to wait to confirm that.
If you own any of the Galaxy devices from Galaxy S20, S10, Galaxy Note 20, and Note 10, then you should have received a new update notification on your device.
You can trigger the update manually by heading over to Settings>>Software Update>>Download and install. If there is a new update available for your region, the system will notify you about the same.
